Megagamerz Must End
posted Tuesday, November 25, 2003 - 05:17 PM (#10889)
Okay, I've tolerated (and not understood, because obviously I'm some sort of clueless luser) this series long enough. Does anyone else here get it? Enjoy it? Want it to continue?

I just want to point out that I'm one of those lame-ass non-paying non-members, leaching off of Jon's creativity, brilliance, and magnamity. So I'm counting on one of you paying members to put the pressure on Jon to end this series, once and for all. Otherwise, I may be forced to continue being bored.

Will this simply continue until one of us defeats the repetetiveness vultures?

Personally, I was hoping that if we ignored it, it would go away.

Thanks to you, though, that idea is right out.

Jon is not subject to pressure from anyone, except perhaps Ms. Amy (Hi, Amy!).

Yeah, that was my thoughts exactly. My guess is that with the holidays coming up, there will be one more tomorrow, and then next week perhaps something new.

In the past, patiently waiting for the story to move along has always eventually rewarded my interest. I recall the first week of "Crab City", thinking it was a bit slow, wondering whether i was perhaps missing some of the humor due to ignorance on my own part. Then the HotWired HoverDachshund made me squeal with glee. So i think the lesson i learned was to give things a chance before making up one's mind.

What i would like to pedantically point out in today's strip (dated Wednesday, November 26th, 2003) is an odd bit of vocabulary. As a person who has to visit a phlebotomist very frequently, i happen to know that their profession is involved with drawing blood. As far as i know, a phrenologist is a person who studies bumps on the head. So maybe these words have been intentionally mixed up? Again, i should just wait and find out. I guess there's no reason to assume that a satanic chicken would know much about certain medical specializations. Perhaps it's all part of a great evil plan being hatched for our amusement. [That was the first cheap pun that i've uttered in months.]

I mean, surely anyone who enjoys Goats and cares enough to create an account can afford less than $2 a month to keep a starving artist off the streets and out of the gangs, right?

I actually thought that the repetiveness vultures were going to continue until someone (like your good self) mentioned them.

I think that these are just a way to build up a cache of "normal" strips so that Jon can concentrate on something else for a bit. But I have a history of being wrong on these things.

I think I "get" the joke. In fact, I am sure of it. However, I must admit that I am not leaping to my browser to check goats first thing in the morning (email first, then goats ;)

Wow, I must hold more sway over Jon than I thought. First, I defeated the vultures of repetetiveness -- they're not mentioned in the strip at all.

Second, notice what is "camping amongst the follicles?"

Mutant Squirrels [goats.com].

I rest my case.

I'm trying to get the minicomic finished so that you guys can be disappointed in that as well. I've got about 10 more pages to color and the cover to do, then we've got to get it printed. I'm guessing it will be done by 2005.
