Monkey rewrites!
posted Thursday, October 11, 2007 - 10:33 AM (#39250)

Jon goes to work for a gaming magazine, but everyone there is too busy with their romantic entanglements to notice him--except for the blue troll and the talking cat.
Philip finds himself on a starship crewed by mercenaries and is shocked when something that looks like a mulch pile talks to him.
Farmella knacks her way to a steampunk version of 19th-century Europe and is chased by hissing giant robots and hairy guys with German accents.
Diablo joins a corporation run by and for supervillains and rises to CEO in about a month.
Toothgnip finds himself surrounded by monsters who all do mundane jobs. He gets a job at a company whose business is unclear and finds himself constantly at odds with a co-worker who is constantly bursting into fits of rage and violence.
Fineas works for an ISP owned by a rabbit and a fox.
Neil and Bob find themselves perched on a conspiracy theorist's shoulders (this isn't an existing webcomic, I just like the idea of a guy who imagines a good alien and a bad alien whenever he faces a tough decision).
Brock becomes an ordinary piece of broccoli and is eaten by a vegetarian character in some webcomic where one of the characters is a vegetarian.

I saw that Australian Bliss [imdb.com] nearly twenty years ago. Although it seemed to me like a marvelously good movie, all i can remember now are a couple of vivid scenes such as the escaped circus elephant sitting down on the automobile, and the distraught woman saying "our company has been making these products which kill people working at petrol pumps" while she annihilates the boardroom with a flick of her torch.

So, yeah-- ignorance, and also forgetfulness, i suppose. Cheers to all you wonderful antipodeans!

PVP/Player vs Player by Scott Kurtz http://pvponline.com

Evil Inc by Brad Guigar http://evil-comic.com

Schlock Mercenary by Howard Tayler http://schlock-mercenary.com

Kevin and Kell by Bill Holbrook http://kevinandkell.com

Girl Genius by Phil and Kaja Foglio http://girlgeniusonline.com

Ugly Hill by Paul Southworth http://uglyhill.com

Boy, I hope those urls actually work...

And, again...

Kevin and Kell?

Ugh. You might as well read User Friendly.

Well technically the URLs do work; it was the attempt at hyperlinks that didn't.

Although http://schlock-mercenary.com/ resolves to an advertising landing page, they all are valid URLs.

I read User Friendly [userfriendly.org], and it makes me laugh once in a great while. It's not in the same league as Goats or Overcompensating [overcompensating.com], but it occasionally offers some funny commentary. There are many webcomics i enjoy, although i'm not tempted to describe any as "immortal masterpieces". Well, maybe BoaSaS [comics.com] has a few gems which qualify, and Get Your War On [mnftiu.cc] has literally caused me to exhale beverages out of my nostrils. I read a number of others, but they're either not worth mentioning, or they're already hyperlinked from the ::links menu at the top of this page.

Oh, and it's a good idea to hover your mouse-pointer over some of those comics because they have additional text-info-tags which contain extra jokes/punchlines; e.g., Overcompensating, Wondermark, qwantz.

Now, what's all this i hear about Zammy and a meds-schedule? I believe it is time for more medication! (mine, anyways)

No, the real problem is that nobody will tell me what the schedule is.

Is it Percodan today and Prednisone tomorrow? Or does the Xanax fit in between?

And which one is it that interacts badly with the rum?

How can I be expected to keep track, when they've got me on an Imidazopyridine?
