I am very mad at John Allison [scarygoround.com] today. I will likely get over it, because he is very nice and a good friend, but I'll probably be grumpy for a good part of the morning.

We don't *know* that Shelly is dead. She could merely be slumped unconscious until a later part in the plot, when she will reemerge.

I suspect she doesn't actually know who did it, anyway.

Actually, I don't think anyone did it. If you examine the strip [scarygoround.com] closely along with todays goats strip [goats.com], you will notice that the two share a common bathroom. Shelly entered the bathroom moments after Staropramen left, and was killed by the deadly odor.
