Staropramen?

So, Jon, is this your latest favorite beer?

For the beer-challenged, Staropramen is a Czech pilsner much like Pilsner Urquell.

Speaking of which, why do all the characters of "Patent Pending" drink lagers or pilsners? Not an IPA or stout to be found. I did see something resembling a hefeweizen glass, but the beer was too light in color.

Is this the future of beer? Anheuser-Busch will take over all brewing worldwide leaving us with only Bud, Busch, or Michelob to choose from?

Gah.

Personally, the Czech beer I feel true antipathy towards is Budvar [europeaninternet.com].

I think the beer they're drinking is supposed to be produced by 'Adel' - at least, that 'Adel' sign looks a lot like a beer sign.

But I agree about the color. It actually looks more like a fizzy lemonade than even the Beast or Natty-Bo. Some of that yellowish tone is probably Jon ensuring web-safety in his colors. So I believe both of them are supposed to be drinking a fairly light lager.

Staropramen is a long-time running gag of Phillip's and mine. We just like the way the name sounds. Say it slowly, giving each sylable its due respect, in a nice, throaty eastern european accent.

And then let loose with a good "BWAHAHA!"

It's very villain.

And to answer your other question, the Patent pending characters are drinking Stella, the beer of choice for the summer of 2032.
