Is Megan Real?
posted Friday, September 06, 2002 - 02:06 PM (#1637)
I've been able to find a real person behind most of the human characters in this strip, and I think I even saw a satanic chicken once, but one character still puzzles me.

Is there a real person behind all, or part of the Megan [goats.com] character, or is she completely fictional?

Megan is completely fictional.

A quick answer to an obviously short lived discussion, but an answer none-the-less. Thanks.

Dude, I wish you didn't say that. Twas a ray of light to all those who feel akin to Jon. A sniff of hope for those fellow nerds, stuck on the same infernal paradox. (See Return of the Demon Bride [goats.com]).
I somehow liked the isea that after all these years, single, with only the company of his eccentric room mate, evil chicken, over sexed goat and loathing local bar staff he found happiness with a woman he still doesn't know the sirname of.

I'd like to point out that it would be impossible for jon to know her "sirname" because that word means nothing - her SURNAME, however, does indeed still remain a mystery to our hero.

You see, this is what kind of tragedy the Staropramen-wrought turmoil engulfing the International League of Pedants has caused. I remember a time when pedants roamed freely, challenging our most basic uninformed assumptions about the world around us.

And now... correcting spelling errors? Have we stooped so low?

On the other hand, you are right.

Tor, according to some of your other posts you already have a girlfriend. Are you trying to build a harem of fictional and real women?

Would you have to create a fictional version of yourself to enjoy the fictional side of your harem?

I humbly admit my error. (I wouldn't be a perfect being is I didn't).
I must also apologise for my attempted poetics in my drunken (it was about 1 time unit [goats.com] from my first sip, that night, until I started proposing marriage to friends, family, enemies and total strangers, for what it's worth) disappointment over the fact that Megan's just a character in a cartoon.
What about Philip's bird, then?

Hmm... You may not give a toss about spelling, but Jean-Paul Sartre is probably wishing from that grave that you would add a second R to his name if you wish to reference his play, HUIS CLOS (NO EXIT)
