Premises:

  1. The Great Farmer's Almanac prophesies that the Programmer will breach the skin between the worlds. [1] [goats.com]
  2. Topekans generally assume that Phillip is the Programmer.
  3. Rocco and his friends live in the interstice between worlds, their faces pressed up against the skin of Pinktopia. [2] [goats.com]
  4. Rocco has not opened his mouth.
  5. Heading the other direction is unthinkable. [3] [goats.com]
Discuss possible info-fact deducements about what will happen next.

Deerstalker? That's a barbaric word for 'coincidence'.

I think "Deerstalker" sounds more like one of those big movie brat films from the 70s. It's about a guy who is so traumatized from watching the Watergate hearings on TV that he retreats into a world of his own.

I am not sure what kind of film "Meerschaum" would be.

Depends on if it's German or Dutch, I think.

The film, I mean.

In re today's strip [goats.com], it seems we are in for a week of discussion before the predictions implicit in the first post of this thread will come true.

I know they will come true because I used this [xkcd.com] random number generator when I ran the simulations. The Topekans should have done likewise.

Isn't it true that one cannot observe something without changing it? So I say that the almanac is a perfectly accurate prediction of everything that's going to happen in that universe as long as nobody looks at it. And since they've been reading it all bets are off.

Great quote of the week: 'science is "satan" spelled backwards'.
