I like to keep our line of merchandise fresh. I like to keep offering you new designs in the hopes that you'll give us your money. But I'm not always sure what's going to sell.

I'm hoping to do a line of Jerrell-wear soon; I have a design in mind and I think it'll be quite lovely.

Do you folks want to wear a Jerrell jersey? What other ideas for t-shirts and assorted paraphenialia do you have? What would you be willing to spend your hard-earned money on?

And here's an idea -- folks who have moderator points, mod up the design suggestions that you like the best. The highest rated suggestions will be mulled over by our crack(-smoking) team of Merchandise Popes.

i think you guys should put all of the forgotten, or little used characters on on3e shirt, like the evil eggplant, chessmaster 2000, sex dwarf, fish, and living/zombie lori.... or even one dedicated to good old twix...

I would have to say that a female character line would be nice; either just a few with seperate characters, or just some weird collaboration(sp?), with or without compromising positions.. Girls of Goats. Afterall, those wacky chicks have become somewhat regulars around the strip.

On a side note, mentioning futuristic merchandise, I would have to suggest having (animated?) Scott Bakula while driving a maxed out delorian. It would be most excellent indeed.

Erm, I meant having Scott Bakula do a promotion for said merchandise, but now that I think of it, either one would work.

For a minute there, I read "Scott Bakula" as "Scott Baio" and I was very, very afraid.

Anyway, I've mentioned my idea to jon before, and he vetoed it due to the startup costs. As a professional who has to dress nicely for work, I am unfortunately barred from advertising my goatsmania through any of the wearables at the store. Even the golf shirts aren't dressy enough.

What I would like to see is a goats necktie. The portrait series images in a checkerboard pattern on a nice silk would be very tasteful. Unfortunately, the places I've found online that do ties by design charge a fair amount up front, and jon can't swing that.

Alternatively, I'd like to see socks with the portrait series on them, or golf shirts in different colors with just an embroidered oval logo on them.

As soon as you said ‘pope’ I immediately thought of a pope hat with a pentagram and Diablo on the back. I would buy that, as long as it costs less than the real thing.

I liked the idea mentioned in a different thread, that there should be Goats posters. I am starting college in the fall, and feel that a big picture of any member of the cast would really make my dorm room perfect. Actually, now that I think about it, a parody movie poster would be ideal. A poster designed to look as though it were advertizing "Goats: The Movie" with critics quotes, little summary lines and a cast list at the bottom (such as Danny Devitto in the role of Toothgnip, or some such nonsense) Y'know, it would be even better if you went ahead and made the movie.

Posters are coming soon; I just have to find some free time to do a few hours' worth of production work.

I do like the idea of doing a movie poster, though -- I'm going to have to work on that at some point.

I should have clarified myself a bit; I'm more interested in ideas for merchandise designs than the types of merchandise. Until Goats is a giant media empire and we have lots of liquid assets (we keep drinking them, unfortunately), we've got to stick to what CafePress is offering.

So, if you've got ideas for designs, go ahead and post. Odds are good that if you're requesting specific types of merchandise, we won't be able to do it, though.

In blatant disregard of the post I am responding to, scrubs! Goats scrub tops! With all sorts of pockets! And strips to offend all the Catholics I work with!!!!

Seriously, though.... The Jesus Snaps one would make a nice complement to the forbidden JPBC.

Or a nice Head-to-Head Roller Biathalon scene would be splendid, perhaps a sarcastic "Just Do It" sumthin. I truly love the enchanting Mr. Twix. I must send you a picture of the Bocce Cellar in Santa Cruz. I laugh every time I drive by it, then wish I had my camera.

Ah, and I must complement you on the Advanced Dungeons and Hamsters. Very classy.

The idea just occured to me (as ideas of questionable value often do at 2am) that there might be some humor in a collection of panels representing the definitive "Jon being shot down" moments through the history of the strip being thrown together into a design. Sadly, I'm too lazy to go archive-diving to find out how many such panels there are, much less to assemble a collection of them and see if it is, indeed, as funny as it might (or might not) be.

Note: By this I mean no offense to Real-Jon. It's just that Character-Jon's woes were, at least early on, often central to the strip and its humor. Real-Jon has commented on the site somewhere that Character-Jon's depression at various times is not meant to be a reflection of himself, so I hope in that spirit the rest of the fans will refrain from mailing me surly eggplants. Thank you.

On second thought, that's probably for the best :)

Or more mocking of big brand names, as long as Goats can survive more corporate animosity.

With lots of little "Smash Poland" picketers.

If the Future Monkey T Shirt is not an already existing T Shirt I nominate that with some patent pending stuff on the back.

I was admiring the new yellow bag with the ever lovable Monotreme, when a coworker wandered by and said "oh, how cute!"

I laughed, and looked at her, and said "you didn't actually read it, did you?"

She said "no," turned back and leaned closer. "oh my god," she said, turned away and didn't speak to me for the rest of the night. Which made me quite happy.
