Hidden Agenda poll?
posted Saturday, April 08, 2006 - 02:13 AM (#33577)
Naelok [goats.com] poses a question. For reference, here's the link to Menstrua, Queen of the Kotex [goats.com].

After a week of plot exposition, we still do not know what motivates the Topekan's transdimensional kidnapping spree. However, there is little doubt that these dimension-hopping farmers have a hidden agenda...

POLL: Could it be that:

20% (6) Topekans plan to use Phillip to reprogram the entire Multiverse in the Topekan image, thus purging the multiverse of alcohol once and for all.

23% (7) The Topekans are but a front for the machinations of Menstrua, Queen of the Kotex (who seems to possess the Knack, interestingly)

16% (5) The Topekan administration is weaving an elaborate web of lies within lies. The Almanac is the Topekan equivalent to Iraqi WMDs. Wheatina can be Bush. Clara is definitely Cheney... and I guess Farmella can be Rumsfeld.

16% (5) The Topekans are benevolent and all-embracing. All they wish for is that the multiverse embrace God in all His porky, digested glory.

23% (7) Clara the Cowputer is, in reality, Khan Jr., whose spirit was cast across the reaches of the Multiverse and then resurrected in cow form.
30 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

Thanks for posting it Tele! I appreciate it. Now I just hope that my poll will live up to mkinyon's high standards.

Nice poll, Naelok! I was a bit torn between options 1 and 3, but I went with 3. Thanks for helping to bring it to reality, Tel*.

Holy crap! (A phrase which has new meaning [goats.com] to me now.)

This puts my last few weeks of polls to shame.

I thank you for your praise, though I think that this [goats.com] was a far superior poll to my meagre offering.

I'm surprised at how well Menstrua is doing, as I expected that to be the least popular option. I guess references to obscure minor villians are the way to go. I disagree with Snipergirl about her being a Middle Pangean though... She does seem to believe on pre-destination [goats.com], after all. And, as has been established in the latest strip, pre-destination makes Middle Pangeans angry.

As a side note, Jon apparently had it set so that only Premium members were allowed to make polls. This has been changed, however, as I can now make polls to my heart's content.

Middle Pangeans.

what he is up to do we?

Phillip is in a "dry county".

So Jon is obviously drunk all the time.

Absolutely, but only because you're in Australia. In certain US states, you need to carry one.

Sometimes untenured faculty members at universities will say: "Someone should head a committee to look into that". To the tenured, this is known as "volunteering".

You just wrote one of those sorts of sentences.

I can't just suddenly take over the TCPs. You invented them, after all. In fact, if not for you making the TCPs, I would never have delurked to begin with. To deprive the forum of mkinyon polls would be a disservice to the entire community.

How does a tenured Math Professor end up in Goats by the way? I just tried to gain insight into the mkinyon personality by reading your research [iusb.edu], but after reading the first few sentences I saw that that plan was not going to be particularly productive.

Not right away, but there will be a period this summer while I'm moving to Denver when I will probably have to miss a few weeks in a row. You're the heir apparent for that period. After that, you'll get to use your "now I am the master" line, and then I'll vanish and my clothes will crumple to the floor.

To share the joy, if I have to miss again between now and the big move, I'll ask other folks. (Tel*, Llama*, sniper*, mystic*, I'm talking to you.) But the summer block is all yours.

How does a tenured Math Professor end up in Goats by the way?

By turning left at the chicken coop.

They won't be paying you enough! I promise!

On the other hand, you'll only be about a five hour drive from the next D.C. area Pub Night, as opposed to your present 13.

I'm not the backstabbing sort of apprentice, I am afraid. When you return, I will have to simply insist on your return to the world of poll-making.

I'd like to say, for the record, that I'm enjoying the portrayal of the Middle Pangaeans as a group of self-loathing gun nuts. It should be great to see Jon among them especially.
