Well, I'd certainly go with her.

POLL: What plans do Farmella and the other denizens of Topeka Prime have for Phillip?

12% (4) Exactly what Phillip is hoping for: "Topeka Prime Needs Men".

15% (5) D'uh! He's the Programmer. They want him to program something. Maybe their VCRs. You remember, those things that use cassettes. No, not that kind, video cassettes, you know, before DVDs ... oh, forget it.

6% (2) They have vast fields of corn. Corn that sways when there is no breeze. Corn that requires a special fertilizer.

18% (6) Topeka Prime is famous for its realistic scarecrows.

48% (16) They want him to build an integrated telecommunications network for managing agricultural throughput. Phillip will, of course, use slashcode. Actual crop production will fall as farmers spend all their time earning karma in the Topeka Prime Forums.
33 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

Normally, Google can't think of anything besides "Mile High Comics" to advertise....but you put up one poll with the word "corn" in it and all of a sudden there's an add for the "Eze Castrator $169.95".

These options aren't really mutually exclusive, are they? I voted for option 1, but it seems more likely to me that the farm chick will either:

1) Be some kind of physical manifestation of a transdimensional Google search used by Fineas to find Phillip and bring him before him.

2) Actually work for some not-looked-for antagonist (Mendel and co.)

3) Be evil of her own accord.

Though I personally lean towards #1, because I'm something of a Fineas fanboy. Jon needs to start selling human-sized versions of his goggles in the store so that I can start weirding out my peers even more than I already do.

That's usually the least of my concerns. In fact, I probably spend more time minimizing the unfunny than maximizing the funny. Considering the usual outcome, this shows how screwed up my priorities are.

By the way, nonPremies may not be aware that Topeka Prime is a Location of Some Importance in the Worlds of Peril storyline. But remember not to despair [goats.com] about that.

hehe, I would also buy those human-sized goggles... lately Fineas has been my favorite character so far :)

Interesting, thanks for saying as much. Is Farmella an actual character from World of Peril, or is she new?

And when's that announcement coming anyhow?

Hrm.

If we remind him, we get the dubious pleasure of having a TCP in a timely manner.

If we allow him to forget on his own, we get the much less dubious pleasure of making fun of him for forgetting.

Bets anyone?

I seem to recall Fineas appearing (to us, the audience) in Worlds Of Peril before he had any scenes in the main Goats comic. But there is so much transdimensional mucking about, Eddy's in the spacetime continuum, and the petunia thought, "oh no, not again", etc, etc.

Which came first, Goats Fineas or WoP Fineas?

I think Tel* gave you the best possible answer to this question. The more prosaic answer is that WoP Fineas appeared on 16 Nov 2003 [goats.com], while Goats Fineas appeared on 18 Jan 2005 [goats.com].

As another clue to how things might fit together, there is an installment [goats.com] of WoP in which Fineas and his friends appear in the Peculier. Fineas is greeted by Siobain [goats.com] (who thinks he's Fish). He greets her with "Siobain! It's been ... eons since I've seen you last". (The second ellipsis is part of the text.) He could very well have been speaking literally.

Thanks for providing the info, mk and Tele. I would go sign up for premium myself (it sounds like its worth it), but since Jon himself recommended against it I have held back on doing so. Still, I especially want to now that I know that WoP feature over two years of Fineas.

Come on, Jon, make your annoucement so I can give you my money!

You pose an interesting argument both for and against reminding him. Although I think I'd rather have the much less dubious pleasure of making fun of him for forgetting.

However, I don't think he'll need much reminding as we've got class together on Thursday mornings and he's usually not paying attention and surfing the net instead. The TCP will give him something constructive to do. All this being said, I've got $5 for.
