Thursday Cliffhanger Poll, 15 Dec 05
posted Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 10:10 AM (#30916)
Fineas went fishing, and Oliver has taken the bait. A scorched goat, hungry for more tasty Xibalba goodness, follows in their wake.

POLL: Other than Fineas, Oliver and Toothgnip, to whom should we pay close attention in the coming battle?

23% (6) Bob & Neil. They think they've loaded a bladder with Budweiser, but it's really Budvar. When this is finally noticed, everyone will sit down to quaff a few, trying not to think about where they had just been stored.

23% (6) Diablo. Surprising everyone, he will remove his own head and launch it, missilelike, at Oliver. Oliver/Khan will try to catch it, but fumble it. Since they'll be playing the dropsies variation, Oliver will be out until Carl or Roger catches the head.

19% (5) Gus & Steve. Oft forgotten is what a potent weapon the classic Underwood can be, particularly when wielded by monkeys. And watch closely for their use of white-out.

11% (3) Tarfon. He is actually intelligent and is just waiting for his chance. Expect him to take the matchbook and bolt. Boy, will everyone else feel stupid.

23% (6) Woody Allen. Unbeknownst to his legions of fans, Woody has ninja skills, the same skills that caused everyone to think he wasn't at the Academy Awards ceremony to accept the Best Director Oscar for "Annie Hall" back in 1978. He was there alright...

As many of you know, I will be away from the Goats community (and hence, civilization) all through next week. Luckily, a special guest has graciously agreed to fill in. I am pleased to announce that the 22 Dec TCP will be written by the incomparable Tynic .

Din-tah.

Speaking of which, when's the November Sunday SuperSize coming? The merging of the two strips is masterful.

What about the Bikers, Roger and Carl? Surely they deserved an entry of their own if Bob and Neil got one.

Din-tah.

Y'know, I'd been thinking that Din-tah corresponded to Diablo. But what about Oliver? He's the one opening the portal in today's strip. How's this scenario: Diablo implores Oliver not to kill Fineas. Fineas relents, and chooses instead to trap Oliver in the Pub Stub (they drop him there when they go to rescue Jon and Phillip, using the coordinates stored in Tarfon). Fineas is trapped there for a (relative) while, maturing into an adult chicken. In the excessive time he has to ponder, he figures out how to create dimensional portals on his own. He does so and finds himself in Topeka Prime, where he blends in with the other meta-chickens, eventually connecting with Jebediah, Prak, and Fineas, seeking his ultimate revenge on Toothgnip, aka the Hairy Despot.

Plausible? Just a bit?

I don't think that Fineas will be maturing into any kind of chicken.

Ah, right. Strike that "Fineas" and replace it with an "Oliver." Then strike Oliver a few times about the head, just for good measure.

It looks like option 2 and 3 is are being combined within the plot. But the question remains: Who will win? Monkeys or Bikers? Let's take some bets here. I'm personally cheering for the Bikers for, although I don't like Oliver himself, I do like Carl and Roger a lot.
