Thursday Cliffhanger POLL
posted Thursday, November 03, 2005 - 04:40 AM (#30081)
Not every Thursday strip has a cliffhanger ending, but why should that stop us?

Fineas, a.k.a. MegaFish: NT Warrior, is ready to jack in to the multiverse. What wonders await therein?

POLL: What will happen to Fineas?

15% (5) Nothing, because the laptop is in a wireless dead spot.

6% (2) He will fulfill his destiny as the One by ... aw, screw it, "the One" jokes weren't even funny when the first movie was in theaters. Or theatres if you prefer that spelling.

24% (8) He'll enter the Worlds of Peril storyline. Then we'll finally be rid of him in the main strip, thank God, and can get back to gag-a-day stuff in the bar.

21% (7) Did you know that the third verse of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is actually about Carrie *Fish*er of Princess Leia fame? And Fineas is sharing a body with Fish. Makes you think, don't it?

33% (11) He's probably hungry, so he'll stop for a sandwich. Maybe salami and havarti on rye to go. No mayo please, cholestorol you know. And a diet Coke, no ice.
33 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

You spelled cholesterol wrong.

I think I probably would have voted for that option otherwise, but, you know... you spelled it wrong.

No, you're thinking of that soft, fat-like, waxy substance in the bloodstream which is carried to and from cells by lipoproteins. I was referring to "cholestorol", which is obviously quite a different thing altogether, if you simply consider the etymology of the word.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Mere coincidence. I simply chose one of my favorite deli options. I didn't notice until after I had submitted the post that there was yet another smoked pork product option in a poll.

Besides, it's hard to get vichy soisse to go. And even good minestrones will spoil your palate and make the rest of your meal inedible.

But minestrone is a peasant soup! It's the whole meal!

Point taken. And maybe Fineas would only be a bit peckish anyway.

What sounds good right now would be a cesnecka followed by svickova with knedliky (sorry, no diacritical marks). And a Budvar.

As an appetizer, salami certainly can do that, unless a decent wine is consumed along with it to keep the palate cleansed. However, after a good salami and havarti on rye, perhaps with a sliced kosher dill on the side (personally, I would skip the diet Coke), both my palate and appetite will be quite satisfied.

Actually, I'm getting hungry just writing this. A pity the fridge is almost empty.
