And odd thing happened to me on the way between two comics.

I got a white page, that only had "I got like 80000 calluses" on it in the middle. It promptly did one of those auto-moving things where the next page loaded automatically.

What are you doing, Phillip?

80000 is the same number as my karma.
I like to use calluses to keep me warm at night.

I just lied!

I think that is one of the things that coders do on the principle that no one will ever see it...

I have left several of those lying around, I am not even a coder.

What are you doing, Phillip?

The same thing he does every night...

Drinking.

In Response to tor (#23625):

A friend told me of one web project he was working on where one of the coders put in a message along the lines of "Sorry, fuckers, you can't get in...Go Fuck yourself." on a page that would display when the site was down for maintenance. This was hillarious when in developement...everyone got a good chuckle.

And, logically, one of the other coders built something where they, the development company, wouldn't see the downtime message, because they'd probably be testing the site.

So, the site is launched, and no one remembered the funny little thing they put up. They go to do their first maintenance, and like 50 people hit the site and got real mad before someone decides to call them up and ask what's going on.

Client was enraged, company was embarassed. Like three people got fired, I think.

Is that before or after trying to take over the world? If it's before, it would make sense.

I'm really surprised it's taking this long for folks to find our little surprises. All the quotes that randomly show up were taken directly from conversation at ComicCon drawing night around 2 or 3 years ago.

This makes me a sad panda. I've been reading this strip for a good couple of years now and have never gotten one surprise. I'm kind of miffed.
