Caffeine + Beer = Goodness?

If this was from a micro-brew, I might be inclined to try it. But as it stands, this seems quite scary [cnn.com].

The ginsing is not appealing in a beer however...

Drew Carey did it first.

Well duh...Drew Carey actually enjoys beer, and micro-brewed.

I'm sure various microbrews have done it at some point or another. I just find it sickening that a macrobrew would.

RateBeer [ratebeer.com] has a few ginseng beers (search on ginseng) that appear to have received favourable ratings.

On a related note Weihenstephaner is suddenly available in 6 flavours here in Sydney now. Dan Murphy's Hornsby have it if any sydney folk are interested in trying it. The hefe is the best in my opinion, followed closely by the dunkel (although I prefer the seductive dark as a rule and so my preferences are probably swayed).

I'm just slightly amazed that bitter melon beer hasn't made more of an impact in non-China places. I can't find a link off the top of my head because I am not fluent in Chinese; however, I can guarantee that it exists. Dating the nephew of a major importer of Chinese products helps that.

Basically, it is a fermented beverage, vaguely fizzy, made from bitter melons. It is not actually that bitter, and is, in fact, rather tasty. More of a cider, perhaps, than a beer... Well, anyway. Anyone else had a chance to sample it, so I don't feel all alone?

Very scary. Now AHB are usiang almost all the legal drugs to get people to buy their exceedingly poor products.

Alcohol- Check
Caffeine- Check
Sugar- Check
Mind-numbing marketing- Check

They just need to get nicotine into that stuff (the word "beer" does not apply to anything produced by Trademark Infringement INC.) then they'll have a full house.

I was thinking they were probably going to go with crack. Get the kids hooked early for maximum profit (since they're obviously not concerned about the beer.)

Thin Mints™ have pot in them? I knew there was a reason why i enjoyed them so much, despite their Girl Scout connection!

It's funny that we're talking about girl scout cookies. I started to read Goats from the beginning - again - and just recently passed the part about the cookies Diablo makes from an entire first grade glass. He says that he was going to use girl scouts, but thought that it was too cliched.

This just amuses me, due to the mere coincidence of it all.

Actually, in this country alone, the Girl Scouts make use of two separate bakery companies to produce their cookies.

Each company has a different name for at least some of the "brands" of cookie that they produce for the Girl Scouts. Thin mints are always "Thin Mints" but the tag-a-logs and samoas are known by different names in different parts of the country.

And they've probably got lark's vomit in them in Australia.

Is this LG pretending to be Graham? Or is Graham ashamed to have knowledge of Bostonian Microbreweries, and is therefore trying to be anonymous (and failing miserably)?
