I'm really enjoying this series so far. From Bush to the Pork-o-tron 5000. Dig the irony. And by the way, I loved Toothgnip as Yentl.

I'm not particularily, but I'll put up with the political commentary that is saturating every aspect of our lives at the moment.

I really enjoyed the Doodleville series though, it brought me back and reminded me of a Goats that had been missing for a while.

I wasn't fussed either way about the Bush section - but Toothgnip in LA is, so far, comedy gold. Second panel: genius.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the original birth myth for Athena, before they cleaned it up in Victorian times. I mean, how silly is it to spring fully-formed from a forehead? Damn Victorians.

I just wanted to applaude the inclusion of so many of my childhood memories into one clip. Who'd have ever thought the the ugly monsters from Dark Crystal and Wil Wheaton could co-exist?

This series seems to be just a couple years beyond me. I'm 23, so I never watched Kotter, and have never seen Dark Crystal, so there's been a lot of "what the hell is this?!?" at my end lately. But oh well.

It's good to see Toothgnip back, but it's unfortunate that he's a Bushite.

I'm only a little older than you, and The Dark Crystal is a monument to our childhood!

I'm with you on the Kotter thing, though. That one's for the oldies.

I digress, I'm in between both of you and I can see both sides of the story. I was too young to understand any of the movie when I first saw it, but still old enough to have remembered seeing it. It was only when I started working in my parents video store that I found out anything about the story.

GASP! Is that a new pose for Toothgnip? He's not sitting down! And, if I remember correctly, the only other time we've ever seen him in any other pose (standing up) was during a flashback, the LAST time he killed Diablo.

And I believe you only got to see part of his back, and some of his butt - adorned with the panties of potency. I was a little surprised to see him laying on the bed as well. I'm really glad Jon learned how to draw him another way.

Yummy...see, I hadn't even thought of that at first but thank you Zamphir for pointing that out.

What good are Panties of Potency if there aren't any women around to use them on? What Toothgnip needs is the Codpiece of Vengence when plotting someone's demise.

And in regards to The Dark Crystal references along with the Welcome Back Cotter ones as well, I'm only 19 and know all about The Dark Crystal and enough of Cotter to get the jokes in this strip...it's not age per se, it's just entertainment preferences. And this isn't the first reference to The Dark Crystal, apparently Diablo likes to label the windex bottle as "Essence of Gelfling".

Except maybe for the ones in Kim Possible. But hey, they've got the Disney billions behind them. Of course they can afford high class ninjas.

Yep. Those ninjas kick ass (if you'll allow the indulgence). Pretty sweet day for me today - got my work done to deadline, ninjas, got paid. If only I hadn't got the shit kicked out of me in training.

Has anyone managed to go back through the archives and see the ninjas? I've been, but not seen. I know they are there. Somewhere. Hiding.

I haven't slept in 40 hours or so, but I have to say that today's strip is the hardest I've laughed in a while.

Funny enough to justify (another) original strip purchase, if I was first to it... (Please don't tell me if you got to it before me, I'd hate to have to kill someone ;)

I honestly haven't been a big fan of this series, but I knew it was going to be a great setup in the end. Even if there are no other punchlines I will be totally and completely satisfied!
