I'm just wondering why all these people are voting, rather than contributing to the conversation.

Lazy lazy people.

My actual feeling was "bleh," but as that wasn't an option I chose "Feh." "Meh" would have also worked nicely. The F in "feh" just takes an extra muscle movement to put my lip behind my teeth that I just don't feel like bothering with.

I voted 'Beer' but meant 'single-malt triple-distilled whisky'. It's hard to pull off a proper depressed funk without good alcohol, and unfortunately we haven't got any.

Someone agrees with my vote, but I'm not sure whether I would get more or fewer people in agreement with me had my actual opinion been an option.

Sorry you're ill, and i wish for you to be able to take time off, and vegetate. Maybe you could spend some time making offerings in front of the "Exalted One Who Is The Great Computer In The Living Room", as the B Jr 6K used to say.

Hopefully you could put your feet up, get lots of fluids, and let your mind rest at ease. Those are usually my goals, too, now that i think about it.

If I didn't get up this morning, I would have been late to work (if I made it there at all).

If I didn't show up to work, I would risk getting fired.

If I was fired, I wouldn't receive a paycheck.

If I didn't get a paycheck, I couldn't purchases beer (among other things).

QED Beer was my vote.

ah.

Back when I was 20 and living in Germany, I used to credit vodka with getting rid of my colds.

There was no point in drinking beer if it couldn't be tasted, and I needed orange juice anyway, so I would have a lot of OJ mixed with a little more than half a bottle of vodka. I figured that the alcohol would kill whatever nasties were making me ill.

By the time the hangover was gone, I would usually have been right.

I never had a cold that lasted more than a day on that system....at least not that I can remember.

Meanwhile, I'm guessing the user wouldn't be able to discern between the hallucinations brought on by the illness and those brought on by the drugs, and therefore wouldn't complain as much, right?
