Production is underway on the Future Monkey shirts!

They will be an exact replica of the shirt the Avi wears in the comic strip. They will be a 5-color silkscreen (yes, real silkscreen) on navy blue shirts.

I'm hoping to have them available in about a month or so. I am very excited as they will be very funky-fresh.

You say 'exact' replica. I assume there's going to be a Goats or PatentPending logo somewhere?

Nope -- no PP logo. I had thought about doing that, but decided against it.

I hate when companies brand products derived directly from their properties (such as apparel that the characters wear) -- it ruins the illusion of reality.

I wouldn't have minded either way. Among other things, I think you could pull off having a pp logo show up on Avi's t - for that delicious yet overly trite Star Trek space-time continuum plot-line reference.

However, now I'm going to have to 'splain where Future Monkey came from to everyone I give a shirt to. Of course, if they don't know, they need to, so it's all good.

now as a "person paying massive fees in shipping" are we able to have one of these bundled with our order of the hardback book and thereby reduce international postage companies income? or will the shirts be shipped by others (I am assuming that the hardbacks are sent by yours truly and that the inclusion of a T Shirt would not outsize the pack much, but I am often wrong in my assumptions).

If so, yay count me in, if, however, this is even faintly close to having you invoke the "argument for laziness" I put forward in another area of the forums just, you know, say "go to hell" and swish your eyebrow ring mounted shower curtain closed at me (which is probably way too obscure a reference, as no one ever mentions how cool Dr Katz was except my girlfriend, but I am going to use in the vain hope that other Dr Katz lovers will giggle incessantly the way I do when I think of that one)

These shirts are going to be shipped by CafePress, so theoretically, I suppose that if you ordered them at the same time, they could be shipped together with a paperback book.

However, we won't be able to ship the shirts with the hardcovers (which , as you correctly surmised,we ship ourselves) as we won't have them on hand to ship.

These shirts also won't be available for some time, so don't hang around waiting for them.

Am I missing something? Or are they not available yet?

I'm hoping to be able to give a few Future Monkey shirts as Christmas schwag.

The original batch of shirts were way too blue, not enough navy. They looked super-lame. I told 'em to make things better, 'cause I wasn't going to selly ou substandard shirts.

The new improved shirts arrived yesterday and will probably be available next week, with plenty of time for x-mas shopping.
