Welcome To Financial Desperation Week

Monday, August 18, 2008 - 01:37 AM

I am going to spare you the gruesome details. Let it suffice to say that I am in need of a lot of money in order to do things like survive, feed my daughter, keep my house and pay all of the very nice people who provide me with services that keep this website running. The crappy economy and a cascade of financial disasters have conspired to make this a very difficult affair.

As such, I am going to try and put up a number of posts this week in an effort to entice you to help support the comic (and my family and creditors) with your hard-earned dollars (mostly concerning, but not restricted to, new items available for purchase in the store).

To kick things off I've brought back the Eight Dollar Enigma t-shirt sale. This is usually a once-a-year sale but I have returned from Comic-Con this year with a bunch of unsold inventory. Not so great for me but it means a bonanza of savings for you!

The rules are the same as always: order between one and five t-shirts for only eight dollars a piece. You pick the size, we pick the designs. You won't know which of our shirts you're getting until they show up in your mailbox. This is a great way to get an instant new wardrobe for school on a pauper's budget.

Keep an eye on this space for more new products and unbelievable sales all this week!

I really like your website, I think the layout is great, but I can't find the 'donate' button to save my life. Howsabout making it a little more prominent, or say, existant?

I prefer to give people something for their money if I can. That said, if there's enough demand for a donate button I'll put one up.

Jon,

Think of it as an "I've already bought everything I wanted when it first came out" button.

God knows I've done it. I've got a closet full of shirts, all 4 glasses waiting for Christmas, artwork, and Diablo figures. And your books.

I'd be happy to throw some money your way if you are that strapped for cash.

I too am having a Financial Desperation Week, and it makes me weep that I can't reap the benefits of your misery, but if I could buy you a beer over the interweb, I'd do.

Hell, let's face it, we're not responsible for anything; including the things we say, do, or think. And if you sue us because you think we are? Well, we're not responsible for that either.
