Gregor's Halloween Extravaganza

Thursday, October 31, 2002 - 08:16 AM

31 oct 2002 November's Sunday Strip is now available in our Premium section. Yes, I know, it's not November, and it's not Sunday, but we've never done anything in a straightforward manner and we're sure as hell not starting now.

This was probably the most difficult and lavishly-rendered Goats strip I've done yet, and it was a bitch to make the rhyme scheme work, but I think it came out pretty well. Come join Gregor Mendel in his country estate as he deals with some pesky trick-or-treaters.

Speaking of Halloween, Phillip and I will be cavorting at (and possibly in, if we can overpower the security folks) the Village Halloween Parade here in Manhattan tonight, and we'll be headed for the Pub immediately afterwards. If you're in the neighborhood, come look for us. We should be pretty easy to spot. We'll post some photos here as soon as we can.

UPDATE: images (of us) are in the forum.

It's as soon as we could.

If you see these folks, moon them.

Color me speechless.

This trumps my "Price Is Right contestant" costume bigtime. Sigh.

Maybe next year I'll go as Jon Rosenberg going as Kevin Smith.

Exactly what color is 'speechless' these days?

I've lost track of such things since Crayola stopped making 'fleshtone' crayons.

At first, I thought, "Those jokers. I was going to get to see what they looked like, but they just posted a picture of Jay and Silent Bob."

Then I thought, "Oh man.. That IS them!!"

Then I was very scared.

Those are some awesome costumes. You guys fit the roles perfectly.

I didn't have the opportunity to do anything cool for Halloween this year. I guess it's just as well; last year's costume [holyducttape.com] would have been hard to top.

Damn, Jon, you have finally done it. What will Horowitz (http://www.goats.com/archive/970413.html) think? Have you finally supplanted him as not only Phillip's sidekick, but as Silent Bob lookalike? You still have some carpentry skills to work on before they call you 'Jesus', though

wow! good job...

unfortuneately this year my costume planning was last minute (5pm the night before) and for every costume idea i had, i was missing one or two crucial things...or a necessary piece of clothing was dirty, etc.

so, i went as my self....scary

here's my costume from last year (Jack Skellington):

Thanks! I call it "The Duct Tape Avenger." You're looking at three full rolls... Eventually I plan to write a superhero-parody type story based on him.

"a rouge hot dog vendor"?

DB, you must go through a lot of makeup in a week.

We haven't heard from Scott in a while, actually -- he's kinda dissapeared. He's living somewhere in your neck of the woods these days, though.
