Hire BatJew And Win A Prize

Monday, August 12, 2002 - 03:44 PM

BatJew of Penny Arcade infamy is in need of a job in the Vancouver area, or a remote job from just about anywhere (which may be preferable as he is very scary-looking). Check the Penny Arcade homepage for more details, or read his .doc format resume for the full scoop. If you can give him a hand, please do so -- I spent many an hour whiling away the time with the 'Jew at Comic-con, and can vouch that he is a Righteous Dude.

Is he looking to work in Vancouver, Washington or Vancouver, B.C.?

I should have clarified. Sorry!

hey, I need a job too. If anyone in New York City hears of a graphic design, printmaking or bookbinding gig's, please let me know. I bet I can convince Jon to offer an additonal prize for hiring me--it can be the East Coast prize giveaway.

Amy is also a Righteous Dude(tte). If you're looking for a graphic designer (or printmaker or bookbinder), you can do no better than to hire this unbelievably talented woman.

If you can hook her up with work, I'll hook you up with lots of Goats schwag.

Well, if you're going to make this the "Situations Wanted" section, I might as well throw my hat in the ring.

I can troubleshoot a PC or a Bosch L-Jetronic based fuel injection system. I know scientific instrumentation inside and out. And I sound really good on the radio.

I think you will find that there are plenty of under- or unemployed people among the Internet-comic fan base.

Hmm... if the person in question is the actual hiring manager, you might have a point in a "conflict of interest" sort of way. Even then, not really a major offense, since Goats schwag, while cool, isn't extremely valuable in the "I'll pay you $10,000 to hire my friend" sense...

In the more likely event that the person in question just makes a connection between the potential employee and the potential employer, such as passing along a name or resume (and assuming that said person doesn't lie to make said connection), then the person is really just acting as a really cheap head-hunter. So I don't see what would be illegal or unethical about that.

Hey, since everyone else is going for it, I might as well say that I'm looking for a job in Chantilly, VA. My skills, you ask? Well, I can type real fast and read comics that are funny. Other skills? What other skills?

Listen, jerk, the only reason I said that there are plenty of under/unemployed people among us is that so many of us work(ed) for tech companies. Need I say more?

And "I can troubleshoot a PC" was meant to be a catch-all statement for software and hardware problems, stupid.

And after a completely retarded, uneducated, assholish, not to mention pretentious, comment like yours, is it any wonder why I would be slow to post personal information in a public forum? You seem to agree, Lonely Goatherd.

Besides, enough people around here know who I am, and can ask for more info if they need it.

By the way, it may take me a while to check this forum again (road trip for the next 10 days). Why work when vacation is so much fun?
