I hang out in the Mission frequently. There's good stuff there, including one of SF's two real NYC-style pizza joints -- Arinell's. (The other is Escape from NY, in the Upper Haight.)
Any food show that starts in the Mission can't be all bad!
My friend Sirr and his brother have filmed a pilot for their food adventure television show! It is trippy and some guy makes awesome sushi while Devo plays. Can you think of a better way to spend the next ten minutes? I didn't think so.

a) All my friends who are sushi-buffs say that the best place in the Mission is No Name Sushi [sfstation.com], and the best place in the city is Ebisu [ebisusushi.com].
b) Of course Latin and Japanese flavors can go well together; there's a huge Japanese community along the west coast of South America. Haven't they heard of Alberto Fujimori [wikipedia.org]?
c) Man, I wish I could get top chefs to cook for me, with ingredients of my choice, just by pointing a camera at them. That's a pretty awesome superpower.
I would guess that a weekly dose of Less would cure America.
Of everything.
i actually liked the idea of this... wouldnt mind a review of the food itself, but for a 10 minute pilot i thought it was pretty good.
slightly nostalgic over the pop up video type things with him saying gorgeous all the time lol
wish your friend and his brother good luck on this getting picked up!
That hamachi/jalapeno dish is straight out of Nobu's cookbook. It's been his signature dish at his Matsuhisa restaurants for several years.
I thought I also caught a glimpse of beef sashimi in one of the quick cuts, another dish Nobu introduced to the US.
Today and yesterday have not shown up in the RSS feed. Is it just me or not?
