Come See Me At San Diego Comic-Con

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 - 10:18 AM

Last weekend me and the other Dumbrella lads got together and put about 3/4 of a ton of merchandise on three palettes and shipped them out to San Diego. If you are interested in meeting a half-dozen or so backbiting douchebag webcartoonists with huge 5-inch egos and have some money, please stop by table #1434 and say hello/give us your money. I'm going to have shirts, books, stickers and probably about 100 Diablo toys with me.

I'm going to be on a couple of panels, if you are interested in hearing me speak you can show up at the following:

THURSDAY, JULY 20 6:00-7:00pm Webcomics 101: Getting Started - It’s easy to make a webcomic, but hard to do it well. Bill Barnes (Unshelved) asks fellow web cartoonists Dave Kellett (Sheldon), Jon Rosenberg (Goats), Brian Fies (Mom’s Cancer), Phil Foglio (Girl Genius) why they went online, and what artistic, business, and technological choices they made. Room 3.

FRIDAY, JULY 21 2:30-3:30 Dumbrella— Artists from Dumbrella, one of the most popular online comics collectives, discuss webcomics, independent publishing, and subverting popular culture. Feel free to quiz Andrew Bell (the Creatures in my Head), Sam Brown (explodingdog), Steven Cloud (B.O.a.S.a.S), Jon Rosenberg (Goats) and Richard Stevens III (Diesel Sweeties) about anything your Internet heart desires. Room 7B

That Dumbrella panel is on Friday, the 21st, by the way -- editing posts is a bit wonky at the moment.

Does that fact that you will have 100 chickens with you at ComicCon mean that I will soon have a chicken at my house?

In Response to Weffs11 (#35180):

These are being airlifted in specially, the rest come over via boat and have to go through customs and the whole rigamarole.

Right now I'm hoping to be sending them out by the end of August (September if there are shipping or customs delays).

Damn it, why does the Dumbrella panel have to overlap with the Battlestar Galactica panel? So hard to choose!

Damn, I may skip the Dumbrella panel myself. Will Billy be there, or is he still dead?
