But do you ever see a person leave a cathedral toting a to-go box?
Coffins don't count.
One of the problems with charging for content is that you limit the number of people who get to enjoy your work. I always feel sad in my brain when we publish pay-for content, because I know there are some folks who need to be budget-conscious and can't drop a few bucks for every piece of content they're vaguely interested in checking out.
So I'm making Contains One Space Battle available for free. If you enjoy it, consider picking up a paper version for a buck off.
The story centers around one of Jon and Phillip's bar bets and settles once and for all the age-old rivaly between agnostics and atheists. It also contains a bit of backstory which may clarify some things in the main strip during the upcoming weeks. Enjoy!

Hey Jon, this is Kris Straub. I sent you a not-particularly-important e-mail a few days ago, and I got the same "couldn't deliver" error from my mail server. I don't think I've ever been able to successfully mail you.
I just wanted to say thanks for doing the panel in NYC! If it had gone on another 15-20 minutes, I would have enjoyed watching you brawl with that netcomics guy.
Kris! Sorry to hear about the email woes, hopefully we'll be able to figure out what the issue is. Otherwise we can just use this thread for our top-secret communiques.
I had a great time on the panel, thanks so much for inviting me to participate! I was going to get all up in the Netcomics guy's face but I realized that he had only been programmed to talk MarketSpeak, and that it was pretty worthless to make any sort of effort after that point.
Hope you're sleeping better now that Dave isn't slipping fire ants into your ears while you sleep.
Awesome. Pure Unadulterated Awesome. And so wrong.
I feel so very bad that I never coughed up the money to buy it before. Might have to pick up the second minicomic now.
Ah, the classic. I love my copy. I pull it out every once in a while and gaze at it longly, and then laugh my ass off. Hope all you free loaders enjoy it.
That was a really good Space Battle.
Don't you guys think the cruiser in the top left corner of the battle looks sort of like those two big ships that are dominating the skyline of Topeka Prime? Coincidence? I think not.
Coincidence? I think not.
It's clearly not possible to be a coincidence. Jon doesn't get *that* stoned, that he would forget that he previously drew a spaceship that looked just like... what he thinks a spaceship should look...
Well. It's still not a coincidence. It may have been foreshadowing.... or it may be backshadowing, I guess. Mining the past for the illusion of continuity, as it were.
The spaceships in COSB are ripoffs of the Galactica ships, there's no question there.
The Sun Ships hovering over the Topekan fields are definitely influenced in design by Star Wars/Galactica and such, but there's no direct correlation to the ships in COSB, which are pretty much just a visual gag.
It was a pretty cool story and it's certainly nice to find out that God is a pirate and votes for Voldermort (and was consumed by our heroes).
P.S. On page 10, it should be "agnosticism".
Actually, I did read it when it was under BitPass micropayments.
Both of the minicomics, but did read this one because it had to do with some of the events precluding Infinite Typewriters.
Wonder how God must have tasted like. Or even better, if they ate God, does that mean that now each one of them has part of God in themselves?
Some people would argue that they already had part of God in them anyway.
