And Boy Are My Arms Tired

Today's strip took something like 8 hours total. Ridiculous. I hope it was worth it. Of course, what the hell do you care, right? As long as you get your fix you're all happy little methadone addicts.

End-ofYear packages for the Super-Premium folks are going to be way late. This year's minis are taking far longer to put together than I had hoped they would, and it's slowing everything else down. I'm shooting for end of January at this point to be realistic. The good news is that the third mini, "Operating Thetan Level Three," promises to be the best one yet. It's a Neil solo story, believe it or not, guest starring Oliver, Tom Cruise, and Xenu himself! So it will be worth the wait and please don't be mean to me.

The annual Nov. 15th deadline for subscribing for the goodie bag came and went a while ago so there's no chance of geting these unless you thought ahead and subscribed early. Tough luck, suckers!

And yes, I know I owe you Sunday strips. They're coming. Hard.

As I was entering the strip data I noticed how truely amazing the strip looked. The first three panels have the "standard" Goats look. The fourth panel with the view from within the ship is a real artistic evolution for you.

A year or two ago the point of view would have been just the outside of the ship with Toothgnip looking out the window saying "Follow them in.". Now you're using different points of view, angles, transparency, fancy effects, color blends and fades, grey scales, and nothingness (I'll look up links later).

I like it. Let's hope the time to completion can get quicker as you become more comfortable with the new effects.

My thoughts exactly. That last panel is a real 'motion picture moment'.

*Sigh* Will we ever see goats animated?

I'm amazed that it ONLY took 8 hours! Your artwork has grown and changed incredibly! Your work is now as good or better than some of the "graphic novels" out there. Strike that, its better than MOST out there. Seriously, I think Marvel and DC would love to have someone of your skill working for them. You write AND draw! Thanks for the incredible strip!

Until I read the discussion, I thought the eight hours was referring to today's (Monday's) strip. Let me tell you, Thursday's was good, todays was fucking incredible.

It just doesn't get any better than Khan Jr.(Oliver) choking Woody Allen.

Truly well done, Jon. I don't even understand the punchline and I'm contemplating buying a print.

I don't even understand the punchline

I think it involves the League of Jewish Athletes [imdb.com].

I also thought it referred to Monday's, which I like a little better -- Woody's face in panel 3 is great. I'm a bitch for details, though -- just noticed that in panel 4 we should be seeing the back of Khan Jr.'s hand rather than the fingers.

Lately I've enjoyed the backgrounds and the use of lighting, like panel 4 on Thu. The buttons glow, the light from outside casting a rim on the characters. It really gives contrast between the indoor/outdoor space. S'good.

Well, taken in perspective the strip is great! But its all great. I have been around since nearly the beginning. At least since the intro of Diablo. While I do enjoy Scott Baio abuse as much as the next guy. The Infinite Typewriter series kicks some major monkey ass.

Oh, I suspect we'll never see anymore of Patheticus will we. I mean, Jon, dude, you're seriously the man now... Bad-ass comic strip with intelligence, wicked and unruly hair, and wife with great taste in music. Does it get any better?

Well, off to work... btw Goats got me through Medical School, and now starts my day before seeing patients. Damn, we're getting old...
