Guest Week(s) 2005

Wednesday, November 09, 2005 - 07:29 PM

Tomorrow morning I'm off to traipse about Europe for ten days with my lovely wife. That means we're going to take a break in the Infinite Typewriters story for the next couple of weeks so I can steel myself for the big finale.

But not to worry! Entertainment will continue at this website in my absence.

This year's Guest Week(s) may be our best yet, with the possible exception of our previous Guest Week(s). I managed to get some heavy hitters in this year's lineup. Hopefully there's a few of your favorites in there, and maybe you'll get exposed to some new talent. Either way, we're all winners.

Here are your guest cartoonists (links to comics will become active as they go live over the next two weeks): I have a reciprocal guest strip coming up on Ryan's Dinosaur Comics sometime soon, so keep an eye on that. Also, please remember that Pontus' strips are generally best enjoyed along with an adult beverage or mental retardation for maximum effect. MG3 will continue to update on a regular schedule, since I do not draw that strip. If you send an email don't expect a quick response; I will have folks attending to customer service duties, so if you've ordered something, please be patient if you contact us and we'll do our best to make sure you're dealt with in the manner you deserve.

That should cover everything. Just make sure to feed the cats once a day and I'll see you in a couple of weeks.

UPDATE: since Jon had the gall to actually take a vacation, and I therefore get to run the place, I decided to add the Something Positive strip linked to in the comments to the queue. I know Jon, and there's no way he would have gotten that Monday's strip done....the lazy bastard.

Europe you say? Well if you happen to stop by either in Verona or Roma in Italy, the infamous www.escaped.it author would happily share some *italian* beer. The Exotic Webcomic Authors commitee.

There are, of course, beers lying in wait if you should happen to stay in Paris. The least I can do for years of reading Goats without ever buying a t-shirt. Email goats@bobdobbs.kicks-ass.org to claim your well-deserved beers.

We understand if Jon wants this to be a vacation away from slavering hordes of Goats fans, so if Clan Rosenberg finds itself wanting to do the touristy thing of people watching while overpaying for beer, I'd recommend the Horses Tavern on the Carrefour Odeon.

If you want cheap and good beers, then Belgium is the place to be.

There's bound to be beers ready to pounce in most European capitals, if nowhere else ;) I'd love to stand a round if the tour hits Dublin. (I'm sure the admins have my e-mail address, right?)

And for the pub recommendations without the slavering fan in tow, I'd suggest Mulligans [dublinpubscene.com] or one of the Porterhouses [dublinpubscene.com] (I prefer Porterhouse North myself)

Mike.

Speaking of which, Westmalle Tripel, Westvleteren (I think that's the Trappist with no label), and Rochefort are great. La Chouffe tastes fine but gnomes kind of freak me out. However, it does come in a magnum...

Nice work Fred on the insight to make a film which excites Fineas so he won't go on this whole teleport storyline.

Or did you just grab the strip from a different Manhattan universe?

ACCO claims that the Red Rio will "put the 'fun' back in the 'functional'". Apparently no sarcasm or irony is intended. Note the abuse of the definite article.

I wonder how long we have to keep talking about staplers before the Google ads catch up.
