Marathon Update

Sunday, November 06, 2005 - 05:28 PM

Amy finished the New York City marathon today. Her total time was 4:49:15, and I am so incredibly proud of her. She's my hero.

She's in good spirits, happy and smiling and looking forward to a long bath. I am going to be taking care of her for the rest of the evening, so there may or may not be a comic strip for tomorrow. I really should have thought ahead on this one, and I apologize for the (potential) lack of update, but hopefully you'll understand. Consider it practice for our upcoming 2-week Guest Week (more details on that soon).

Amy wants to thank you for all your support, both spiritually and financially (for her MS fundraiser) -- it gave her a huge lift when you helped top the fundraise-o-meter. I want to thank you as well.

So...

Why hasn't Diablo [megagamerz.com] updated today...

Did he get drunk and let someone chop his head off last night? Again?

Does that really mean anything over there? It says one needs 2+ karma to start a discussion (which I interpret to mean +2), but I just started one with 0 karma to test if it would work. I assume it isn't really set up to check karma levels. Or maybe I just earned the Wrath of Phillip ...

Oh, and many heart-felt congrats to Amy, Jon. That is indeed a great accomplishment.

Well, perhaps this is off topic, but a huge congratulations to Amy! I mean, I can run an eleven minute, four second mile (maybe)- but I certainly COULD NOT do it 26.2 times consecutively. Kudos on the physical, mental and charitable success!

Well, I fixed the text so that it should be a more accurate portrayal of reality. But I think there's something wacky going on with the karma over there, and I'm not exactly sure what it is.

In the meantime, I think you should all revel in the increased karmic entropy I'm apparently creating.

Hell, let's face it, we're not responsible for anything; including the things we say, do, or think. And if you sue us because you think we are? Well, we're not responsible for that either.
