The Deed is Done

Early this morning, I finally got to sleep, after a great wedding ceremony, a loud and fun reception, and a final trip to the Poolbeg Street Pub for those of us who just couldn't stop.

I've received notes from a lot of readers, but being somewhat overwhelmed by all the last minute planning, I have utterly failed to get back to any of you. So consider this the reply, and thank you for the sentiments.

As a service to the various companies, services, and firms we used, I want to plug the ones I would recommend. First and foremost, Jeff (priest) and Dorothy (organist) from The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, were great. Despite the fire there in December, they still managed to get things together and pull off a great ceremony. Jessica at The Clay Pot, a small boutique in Brooklyn, was exceptionally friendly, despite us forgetting to order our rings until the last minute. Jim Mahoney of Mahoney's Limo drives his own cars, was the most flexible place I spoke to, and was still on time, with beautiful cars for us. Scott, Jon, and George as the groomsmen, each received engraved pewter flasks, full of course. The Walsh Brothers, in England, managed to get them to me in record time, and should probably win a prize for some of the best customer service I've ever gotten. This despite my repeated nagging, wondering when the flasks would get here. Robbin, at the Gramercy Park Hotel, did an amazing job at putting together a Swedish smorgasbord for us (supplemented by some Brooklyn Beers), so good it even fooled the real Swedes. And in the background the whole time, the band Good Clean Fun kept everyone moving with an amazing mix of music. Not only was their playing exceptional, but their ability to read the crowd and pick what to play kept the dance floor full.

So thanks to Scott, Jon, and George for their work in getting this put together, thanks to Lauren's and my friends and family for getting us there, and thanks to Lauren for deciding to put up with me for the rest of her life.

Hell, let's face it, we're not responsible for anything; including the things we say, do, or think. And if you sue us because you think we are? Well, we're not responsible for that either.
