Return of the Moustache Fighting League

Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 08:34 AM

moustache fighting league The Moustache Fighting League is back for another season of rough-and-tumble moustache action -- action that can be worn. By you! Due to popular demand we're reintroducing the classic Moustache Fighting League t-shirt and babydoll tees. These are the official MFL tees and not the cheap knockoff versions found in malls throughout Korea that give you scabies. Also, rabies. So be sure to buy ours, which are guaranteed 100% disease free.

Think I'm kidding about the Korean knockoffs? One of our eagle-eyed readers in Korea spotted this beauty at the local mall:

I think it's kind of amazing that we're being ripped off halfway around the world. I'm not sure whether to be furious or flattered. Also, it seems we missed the competition, which is just upsetting.

Also, check out the labels they assigned to the different icons. Miner? Engineer?

I'm still looking for the moustache on the laurel wreath...

Also, Korean knockoffs means you've hit the big time!

I vote for flattered.

First: Furious is overdone.

Second: Just LOOK at that thing! The bracket belies the sophisticated structure of the event, with the four pedestrian qualifiers vying to face the winner of the governor/lawmaker/senator/frat-guy -vs- cop match. I mean, this fairly shrieks "FEMA flowchart."

Besides, who can deny the power of "WEAPON==APPLICATION"?

*plus, how could the Ko-REans know that the Native American was actually just some poseur from the asian sub-continent? THAT'S research, my friend... oh, yes.

I'd say be both flattered and annoyed.

We all know that imitation=flattery, but it should raise the pedantic ire of the entire readership.

That's not a league. It's a knockout/cup competition.

Plus, the forum seems to be swallowing my posts. I'm sure that I posted this before.
Or is this just a case of data vu?
