Yay For Us

So it appears we have been nominated for Best Website Design in this years' Web Cartoonist Choice Awards, along with most of the other webcomics. Getting a nomination for Best Website is a bit like being nominated for an Oscar for Best Catering. It's nice, but somewhat frustrating at the same time.

Is the reason you're frustrated the fact that you were nominated for Web Design and not anything to do with your actual artwork or stories? Yes, it's not the "glamor" categorys but someone thought enough of your website design to nominate Goats. Hopefully the nomination will increase readership and sales.

I think I nominated goats for this. It's about the only site I think of when someone asks me to think about comic website design. I think I spelled your name right, though.

If you stick with this orange scheme long enough, you won't have to worry about it next year- oh! I'm such a bitch!

What? No megaGAMERZ 3l33t.

Just The Man trying to keep a chicken down if you ask me.

But congratulations Jon and Co.

Do the judges have PayPal accounts or is bribery considered bad form?

Well, it could have been worse, I guess....

You could have been nominated for Outstanding Comic Named After Livestock.

Or worse, not nominated for it.

And hey, some of us still love you.

After originally HATING the orange, I must admit that I now like it a lot. I still think the new goats logo might be too plain, but I actually like the color scheme (and overall design of the site).

I'd have to say it's one of the best designed (most functions with fewest clicks) web sites I've ever seen, not just among online comics.
