Wednesday, April 07, 2004 - 03:51 PM

This is what happens when I'm bored.
POLL: What do you think?

23% (410) Man, I'd love me a bean burrito right about now.

36% (652) Cats are probably smarter than they let on.

8% (153) I'd like to party with the guy who invented the extra-long shoe horn.

8% (159) Gratuitous polls make my heart sad.

22% (395) Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo!
1769 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

Did you, perhaps, mean anti-Occamist [m-w.com]?

Or maybe you meant Antioch-umist [antioch.edu]?

Logic leads me to believe that the distinguished representative of a non-descript area of the world was calling you an anti-Occamist...

Of course, the last time that I trusted my own abilities of logic, it was my Intro to Logic class, and I got a C+ on the test... so... umm... this is the part where I close my mouth, walk away, and try to find me a bean burrito.

I think that gas station burrito will cause a fair amount of "movement" itself.

Good to see that there are a lot of people aware that cats are secretly far more intelligent than they're letting on.

Mine are just trying to figure out the opposable thumb thing. They've already worked out cooperative hunting, and how to turn a chest of drawers into a staircase. If they ever get the can opener working, they're going to kill me in my sleep.

I didn't vote for that, because if cats were even MORE intelligent than they're letting on they'd already be the dominant species.

I had a cat that understood English. One example is that he used to like to sit on the second tier of my computer desk, above the monitor. If I'd leave the room, he'd follow me unless I said "I'm coming back," "I'll be back," "Don't worry, I'll return," or some such similar thing. If the meaning wasn't similar to one of those, he'd follow me.

He could also teleport.

No, it's true.

But I've seen Muriel's Wedding, and Cosi [imdb.com], and why, I've even seen Crocodile Dundee 2.

So I'm an expert, I am.

I'd use various tones (it became sort of an experiment). I'd also use the same tone, but say something meaningless such as, "Don't worry I'll meet bern soon," instead of, "Don't worry I'll return soon."
