Embroidery Madness

Tuesday, March 09, 2004 - 12:15 PM

Good news, everyone! We're offering hoodies, knit caps and messenger bags with your choice of Neil, Bob or the Pirate Monkey Robot Skull embroidered on them. Order any embroidered item before St. Paddy's Day and we'll throw in a free bonus Contains One Space Battle Minicomic with your shipment. COSB tells the genesis story of the Church of the Chaos Pope, so if you haven't read it, you're missing out.

Each one of these beauties is custom-made to order, so please allow an extra week or so for delivery.

And remember, our Neil and Bob glow-in-the-dark shirts are only available until March 15th.

Futile though it may be, I am railing at your use of the phrase "St. Patty's Day". Patty is a character in Peanuts, or one of Marge Simpson's sisters, or one of those alleged slices of beef in a burger. The name of the event is St. Paddy's Day, or St. Patrick's Day, or, if you're lucky enough to be in Dublin for the whole thing, St. Patrick's Festival (can't drink quite enough beer in just a DAY, after all) but on no account should Patty be brought into it.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled insanity.

Cool stuff. Though I don't really see anything on the new PirateRobotMonkey picture that says "robot". It's still nice though.

Also, I was wondering what it would look like if both the Neil AND Bob pictures were to be put on something. It would be kind of like a twisted version of the comedy/tragedy masks that are associated with the theatwa.

The "Robot" bit is, in this instance, used as an adjective (or, if you like, as part of a name) describing the derivation of the Skull (i.e., from the hat of the Pirate Monkey Robot), not the content of the design. I suppose some confusion is likely to occur when you string four nouns together like that.

Ouch.

Ouch, ouch, ouch.

Logged in to order my Neil t-shirt, and now I see more scrumptious, totally irresistable goodies ... crap.

There goes my alcohol budget for the week.

You gotta love my little country. There is a bus, train and plane strike [www.rte.ie] planned for Thursday the 18th. So we don't have to call in sick that day - just blame it on SIPTU [siptu.ie] and go drinking instead! That way, Friday can be held for the sick day. Five day weekend anyone?

I'm still trying to figure out what is reflected in Phillip's glasses. Either the photographer is an extremely wide and flat person shaped like a coffee table, or else they're using a very clever arrangement of mirrors and remote controls.

I'm not asking questions, I'm just thanking god that those ruby quartz glasses are containing the red concussive rays that tend to emanate from Phillip's eyes.
