POLL: Neil vs. Bob: Two Weeks Only

Monday, March 01, 2004 - 09:18 PM

We're doing a limited run of glow-in-the-dark Neil shirts and Bob shirts. Or is that Bob shirts and Neil shirts? Either way, get one or the other or the babydoll versions or both at a discount, but get 'em quick, because they won't be around for long. We'll take the last orders for these designs on the Ides of March, so order yours now.
POLL: They have a fight. Who wins?

6% (131) Neil

12% (236) Bob

80% (1516) Particle Man
1883 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

Found a bug in your poll thing.

It's overlapping the two images on the main page. I'm running IE 6, WinXP, screen res of 1152x864.

Shouldn't it be Triangle Man in the poll? He's undefeated, as far as I know (except he wouldn't fight Universe Man).

Yeah, 'cos they're gonna execute whatever code the face of poop chooses to type in.

The "code" setting just provides reasonable formating for displaying code fragments. The language doesn't matter.

It's true that Universe Man is usually kind to smaller men, and perhaps the exception is Triangle Man.

I should probably stop speaking of them as if they are real people.

Same guy printing them, same glow in the dark ink.

But less ghosts and more aliens. So, they're similar, but not identical.

What I'm wondering is why only two weeks. Likely not for the same reason as the two weeks given to take the "Jesus' Peanut Butter Cups" t-shirts off the market.

We're going to start doing more limited time items -- I have a lot of ideas I want to offer on shirts, but we don't necessarily want to maintain stock on all of them. So we'll start doing these two-week offers. If there's exceptional demand for a given design, we'll consider adding it permanently, but I wouldn't expect to do that very often.

I was at Domingo's a couple weeks ago on a Thursday night, and I saw Particle Man there with some people (seemed like acquaintances, not really friends). Particle Man was drinking a lot and getting kind of drunk (or were the drinks getting him instead?). He was kind of stumbling and spilled a drink that belonged to a young guy who looked like he belonged on some ivy league rowing crew.
They were both inebriated, exchanged words that I can't repeat here, and things quickly got messy. Now, I used to be a corner judge for a Thai kickboxing league, so I've seen a lot of fighters at a lot of skill levels. The other kid definitely had a few weight classes on Particle Man, but, considering the situation, Particle Man seemed to carry himself pretty well, somehow fighting off the effects of the alcohol to exhibit a decent level of control and balance. He ended up taking a beating that night, but that's life -- a Goliath is going to beat a David 9 out of 10 times.
I'd guess that Neil and Bob would be less imposing opponents, and in a more controlled fight setting, Particle Man would be an easy victor.
Particle Man got my vote.

Would anyone else want these on a long-sleeved shirt?

Because I want there to be a long-sleeved shirt option. Yes, yes I do.

Is there a chance of that?

I'll prolly be buying the 2-pack for myself anyway, but something about the glowing face on a black shirt makes me think it'd be oh so perfect if it was just long-sleeved.
