Tuesday, February 17, 2004 - 11:16 PM

For a limited time, Diesel Sweeties and Goats are teaming up to fight the scourge of expensive shipping by offering our Pixels 'n' Chicken Party Pack . The Party Pack includes both r stevens's Pocket Sweeties collection and our brand-new Tasty Yet Morally Ambigous super-sized collection (with foreword by the aforementioned r stevens). You can get both tasty morsels, along with a DS sticker and a Goats RFV sticker, all for one low price. And to sweeten the deal, we're offering free shipping on orders to the US and Canada, and severely discounted shipping to other locations.

This offer is only available for one week, until Wednesday, Feb. 25, so order your Pixels 'n' Chicken Party Pack today.

I am most pleased to see the phrase "Better than a magic kitten" has found a suitable context.

I'm still glad I ordered TYMA when I did.

I'll be able to have a matched number set of hardcovers.

If I were really interested in the DS book, I'd maybe buy the bundle, just to have a reading copy of TYMA.

But I honestly don't think DS has much long term appeal. Not that I'm saying it's bad in any way, just that it's very representative of it's time and place, and thus likely to get dated quickly.

It's eminantly quotable. It was tied for references with Futurama during the summer of 2001 for me and my clan. That was, however, when I was a full time code grunt and my off-hours cognitive capacity was reduced to ash, forcing me to survive off the wit of others.

Still, "I got kissed in places that were not mouths!" has a warm place in my heart.

Again, I'm not saying DS is bad in any way.

I like it, I read it every day.

I just don't have any urge to buy a paper copy of it.
