Come Meet The Goats Guys in NYC

Saturday, January 10, 2004 - 03:00 PM

Phillip and I will be appearing at the January 14th meeting of the Cartoonist Alliance meeting here in Manhattan. The meeting is open to any of you that would like to attend. We'll be speaking about the economics of webcomics and the process of putting together our new printed collection (soon to be available on this very website), along with anything else you'd like to chat about.

The meeting is at the MoCCA offices and gallery at 32 Union Square East, 6th floor. Even if you don't want to talk with us, I have heard rumors of there being free beer, so it might be worth your time to show up. We'll also have free copies of our new minicomic available for you.

If you're planning on attending, please send an email to Denise Ozker (ozker5 at earthlink.net) and let her know you'll be showing up so she can get a vague idea of how crowded it will be. See you there!

UPDATE: I just ran into two other NYC webcartoonists, Meredith Gran and someone else whose name and URL escapes me at the moment -- I was fording near-blizzard conditions and on my way to an Important Scheduled Appointment when they jumped out of the shadows and completely befuddled me. I apologize, Meredith and Other Person, for my befuddlement. Anyways, they asked me when the aforementioned meeting was, and I realized that a) I didn't know and b) I had failed to mention it on the site. It's at 7pm. There you go.

Is this a new collection? Or are you referring to TYMA, in its hardcover or paperback version?

I'm still eager for the paperback of TYMA (I'd get the hardcover, but I'm far too poor). Any idea of when it'll be available?

TYMA is indeed the one we're referring to.

it will be available within a couple of weeks, I believe.

Will there, at that point, be the availability of getting all 3 hardcovers as a bundle?

There may be a few matched sets left, but I can't be certain; you should email Phillip to put one aside if you're concerned about that.

Seeing as how that is quite the budgetary undertaking for a college student, how long is phillip willing to put things like that aside for?

Do you have payment plans?

While supplies last, pretty much. You're welcome to negotiate with him directly, though -- he has a record of being kinder about these sorts of things then I am.

it went really well. I'll put up a post in a little while with more detail; I need to get URLs for some of the attendees first.

Oh man I hope this works... I know I am not in a state to actually achieve goals and I don't think anyone has done this before but I am hoping that by posting in a thread which appears to have no "last post" value I will fix the unread value for the thread which has no unread posts....

Some kind gentle Internet user created themselves a log-in, and then proceeded to spam several of these news topics on "How to make money on the Internet".

These fine postings were then manually deleted by either the Overlord of Chickens or his code-monkey.

This caused the various news postings to have a blank field for the "Last Post" - because the delete process isn't that smart.

This can sometimes interfere with the "read/not read" marking process in a way that prevents a topic from being marked as 'read'.

So Tor was seeing all of the affected news topics as 'unread' all the time. In order to fix this, he posted something, so he could then go back and read it.

This message brought to you by the Goats Forum Manual Alert system. Had there been an automated Alert system, this message would nto be necessary.
