I entered the rest of Crab City but used Dolphin as the character in the Suspension Tank. Should it be changed to Zombie Fish as Spummy explained or leave it as Dolphin like the crabs all thought? I think it should stay as Dolphin because it fits the storyline (that's why I did it as such).

I'm going to leave this one up to you guys; it is, obviously, Fish, but it might make sense to leave it as is. I'm not sure.

Anyway, thank you for entering those strips; we've been falling behind as of late. If any of you who are not already strip editors (basically, the folks entering the dialogue and such for our searchable database) would like to help us out on an ongoig basis, please let me know and we'll get you started.

Phillip and I have been tossing around different ways to provide incentive to strip editors without hurting ourselves financially (money is pretty tight these days) and making it fair. Once we figure something out, we'll let you know.

Maybe you could make a useless, mind-numbing game on the site, and extra special people could cheat on it.

Wow, bonus perks for what you asked people to volunteer to do? That's too kind. I thought it was something we were doing to help make the site even more kickass!

I've come across this sort of thing before and wondered what to do. Since it is for a searchable database, it might be more complete to list all possibilities for which people may be searching. In this case, I'd be inclined to list both Dolphin and Fish as characters. Is that a good way to go?

I would personally put my argument behind duplicating the dolphin's entry with Fish as the character as it is only in a couple of strips.

The only other option I can think is to give Fish an attribute of (as Dolphin) which is what I would argue for if the character was in a bunch of strips this way.

If you're still looking for volunteers, I'd be happy to help. I hang around the site quite a bit, but never seem to have anything insightful to add to the forums (not that that stops some people). Typing in other peoples' jokes is the perfect way for me to help...

I look at this in terms of how it's used. If someone's looking for all strips with Fish, the Crab City strips in which he appears should make the list.

As someone mentioned elsewhere in the thread, you could put in duplicate character entries (one for Fish and one for Dolphin) or you could make (as Dolphin) an attribute for the Fish character in those strips. The former is a bit of a hack, and could come back to bite you in the butt if (a) you really create a character called Dolphin down the road or (b) you do more Crab City later. (Perhaps neither of those is likely, but why paint yourself into a corner?) So I'd be inclined to go with an attribute.

I took my divine moderation powers and zapped them into Fish (as dolphin). That was good enough for me. Fish (zombie, as dolphin) seemed too anal...

As mayor of the altered state of Druggachusettes, I now pronounce this moderation awesome.

Say a hypothetical person was entering strip information and accidentally hit the "clone" button instead of the "update" button and added a fourth panel where there are only three panels in the strip. How would said person set about removing the extra panel?
