Diablo, Fish and Toothgnip have informed me that they've worked their way through the entire backlog of ATA questions, and they need some more. So please take a minute or two to ask a question or three [goats.com], especially if you haven't asked one before.
Toothgnip has put together a list of suggestions about what makes a good question, and asked me to post it here:
Toothgnip has put together a list of suggestions about what makes a good question, and asked me to post it here:
- Don't ask stupid questions. You know what I mean. Smart questions get smart answers; stupid questions where you're trying to be clever only make you look like a dork.
- Asking for advice about your real-life problems? Give us details, man. Juicy details.
- Making shit up? We can tell. Don't bother. It's not fun for anyone involved. Your flights of fancy are only entertaining for you.
- Asking us personal questions about ourselves is likely to get your question ignored -- this is an advice column, not a Star Trek convention.
