Other nerdly endeavors

We've had a couple of discussions about readers' programming talents. (Mine are quite minimal, HTML.) That is only the tip of the nerdberg. Beyond computers, what else contributes to your nerdiness?

While I am an IT geek because it is in my job description, I am, for the most part, a different sort of nerd. I was trained as a biology nerd, expressed recently in plant knowledge. I go to events called "Plant Nerd Night" where many Latin words get tossed around. I often make biology-based jokes that few understand. Other areas in which I amass trivial knowledge: photography, beer, theater tech, and movies.

I'm a freelance roleplaying game writer. Which automatically means a -4 penalty for all Getting Laid skill rolls.

Someday, when I've exhausted all excuses for wasting time, I'll actually finish up the rules I wrote for Advanced Dungeons and Hamsters (version 3.7) and send them to Jon.

And I'm traveling halfway across the country on my wedding anniversary to take my husband to a comic book convention so we can meet someone who draws an online comic strip.

I win. At least yours makes you some money. :)

I didn't say "geek of all trades, and master of none".

I just said Geek Of All Trades.

I'm trying to master them all.

I don't know if this counts as nerdy but I'll only buy DVD's with the director's cut, multiple audio commentary, extra bells and whistles, etc. That's why I'm waiting for the Platinum Lord of the Rings (Part 2) to come out.
