Because i'm a humungous dork and absolutely love her writing, i'm heading up the NYC August 21-24 (i think) to go to visit Miss Alli at The Amazing Race Convention [television...utpity.com]. I need somewhere to stay so i thought i'd ask you people. First and foremost, i'm a cheap bastard. The reason i'm taking this trip is because i have an extra Free Flight Voucher [livejournal.com] from last xmas. Right now, i was considering staying at The Hotel Thirtythirty [3030nyc.com], which would run around $113/night after taxes. Do you people have any other genius ideas?

Also, if any of you NYC-type [goats.com] people [goats.com] wanted to get together at some point, i imagine that i'd enjoy that.

I imagine it's still possible to get a nice room at the Y for a reasonable fee.

I imagined NYC had youth hostels. So I asked Mr. Google (Dr. Internet's life partner) while pretending I was a european still intrested in visiting the States!
