This is incredibly awesome and dorky. And if you've ever wondered if you got the proprtions correct in that dream where King Kong was attacking the Executor, well, wonder no more.

Um, hasn't someone posted that site before? Does this mean that I have to look at it again? Cuz, the first time was entertaining but the second might be.......redundant.

Perhaps... I didn't start reading the non-members forums until the site revamp.

Even if it was posted before... now they have Farscape ships! That's worth revisiting, right?

...right?

I discovered this site early this week (Monday, I think it was). The URL was published in a gaming mag somebody at work had picked up. What I find most cool about it, other than the sheer volume of examples included, is how the pick-up-and-drag feature works in Internet Explorer. Sadly, it does not work on Netscape or Safari, but still... it's a cool feature that I have not seen used for anything even remotely beneficial on other websites.

Of course, that implies that this website has beneficial value... I just think it's cool... OK? So I'm a geek -- aren't we all? Isn't that why we're here?

This is TOTALLY wrong. The death star was aprox. the size of a moon, our moon (a small one even in our own solar system) is about 2162 miles (3479 km). Yeah, stupid nerds.

Yes, our moon is not the largest in the solar system, but it is believed to be a large moon, and its size ratio with earth is quite unusual.

For an example of a small moon, check out Phobos.

Jupiter or Saturn are a good place to look to compare relative size of planet to related moon. But for how small moons can be, look not at Phobos, but at Charon, the satellite revolving around Pluto. Pluto is itself only about two-thirds the diameter of our own Luna, but Charon is just about half of that.

And besides, the direct quote from the movie says "that small moon."

b. At 800km, the Death Star II is well within the range of a "small moon" compared to bodies in our solar system.
c. Unless you have some stunning proof that 800 km is somehow less than 7 miles, I suggest admitting defeat...
