Dear Canada,

Please annex the northeastern US, up to and including New York State. I was seriously considering moving to your fine country, but realized this would me much less of a hassle for me.

Your Friend,

Jon

What's to stop them there - countries tend to get a taste for expansion once they've begun annexing. After all, we all need more lebensraum...

Dear Canada,

Why do you make people declare whether or not they have or intend to visit a farm/barn when in Canada... Ok the fireworks thing I understand and the fruit as well but a farm? Seriously it makes people want to go visit this forbidden fruit.

Dear Canada,

Re: jon's letter of 18 June, would you mind including Michigan (both peninsulas) in that offer? We're three-quarters of the way there anyway, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch.

Best regards,

I was actually gonna respond with something as informative and helpful as yours was.

But then I thought it might serve to dignify his blatant, poorly done, rip-off of a Dennis Leary snippet that's playing as a not-quite-a-commercial on Comedy Central.

Well, okay. Maybe instead of being a poorly done ripoff, it was a poorly done reference.

I wasn't gonna dignify it either way.

Being a wanna-be-Pommie, you wouldn't know where it came from, so it's okay that you did.

Yay! Proof of intelligent life in the States! Ever since the whole Geroge W. Bush thing I've been wondering about you guys. I wish we could annex you guys, but sadly we cant. And yes, Homosexual people can now be legally married in 2 provinces of Canada. More coming! In my own province of BC and Ontario in the east.

PS. Fezz do you watch this hour has "22 Minutes"?

Been there, done that. [vermont.gov]

And I recently heard from one of my Minnesotan chums that MN was slowly decriminalizing personal use of 'the pot'. After a wild goose chase, of link-seeking in my ever-vigilant quest to actually follow up on hearsay, I found this [norml.org].

Jaysis. Is this for real? What ever happened to the feds unconstitutionally putting the Fear of God into 'those darned hippies'? I only looked at MN and NY (not caring about the rest of the union, which I lovingly refer to as the 'inferior' states (MN's included btw, but was important to this link-quest)), but is this accurate? Treated akin to a minor traffic violation? Is there a lawyer in the house?

I want a second opinion before I go get some 'parking tickets'. ;)

Also, while looking for the link, I came across this [state.mn.us].

"Oh yaah. We're gonna cap yer ass, you betcha!"
