I just saw the movie Bruce Almighty and let me tell you, it is FUNNY! Definately one of Jim Carrey's best works in a long time. Best part, it's not one of those that you have to think about afterwards. Final words, Morgan Freeman is SOOOOO good as God. See it now yest Bruce does smite ye all.

Ok, this was pretty much a wasted post, I figured Dynedian would come in an be all like, "You're so wrong, my degree in archery says this movie sucks."

But he didn't.

So, as saving grace.

Here is the following interesting news

The best quote I've seen about a Sim City Game

It's doubtful that President Bush, who is pushing for tax cuts, would enjoy playing "SimCity 4," the latest incarnation of a series that invites players to build their own thriving metropolis. Tax cuts have no place in this game, at least if you hope to win.

I also found a link a few days ago about a man who drowned, got caught in a pipe, and was contaminating 1/4 of the water supply for the largest city in the Phillipines.

If you happen to find the link for that story I'd like to know, or if you have any interesting stories like that.

You know what would be cool? If we had a way to make it so you could click on text, and it would take you to the page someone is talking about... sort of "link" (if you will) between the former and the latter. I'd dig that.

Oh, and what if our language was built around the idea of grammatical structures that, when finished, made sense? Perhaps we could call them, I don't know... Sentences?

The movie itself wasnt That good... I suspect that since his last few movies blew chuncks that in comparison this must look like a pile of gold when it really is a pile of well... I'll let you figure taht out.

That's an awfully boring name. We should call them "the building blocks of power", or "shumpticles", or something of the ilk. Then people would tend to remember them...

I thought it was a decent movie. Not great, but entertaining and well worth the cost of a movie ticket. I enjoyed it.

And, for the record, tax cuts do work in SimCity4 (just like all the others) - and there is no 'winning' to the game, its completely open-ended.

Well, I can't say that Carrey is my favorite actor by any means. In fact, I've skipped quite a few of his recent films. However, I quite liked Man on the Moon and The Majestic.

I really thought in the latter that Carrey had grown substantially as an actor. However, Hollywood is not interested in actors growing and trying new things. If you've paid to laugh at something once, you're more likely to pay to laugh at the same thing again.

I quite agree with stilllwaiting about Hollywood not being interested in allowing actors to grow and branch out.

If you want an example besides Carrey then look at Christopher Walken. He is always playing the villain in every film he appears in.

Recently I saw an interview where he stated that for once he would really like to play a character who isn't a villain. However, let's face it, he never will because people like to watch him as a villain.

Let's face it, Christopher Walken couldn't play anything other than a villian. What else could he play:

- Making eyes with Meg Ryan.

- The name's Bond, James Bond.

- The loving father of a coming-of-age daughter (the prospective boyfriends would all have fingers lost in pruning shears accidents)

- Mr Miyagi from Karate Kid

You've got a point there. Christopher Walken would make a good Mr Miyagi.
