Sure I could post these sorts of things on memepool, but I like it here better. For one thing, memepool doesn't have a chicken losing it's head on the right side of the screen.

I'll bet you were all wondering about the size difference [wolffelaar.nl] between the Empire State Building and a Promellian battlecruiser. And if that weren't enough, you can drag and drop the items wherever you want on the page.

How can they not have the Nostromo? What kind of a geek site do they think they're running?

For shame.

The Nostromo [imdb.com].

What kind of geek are you, you don't know the classics?

A British literature geek, of course.

And yes, I was quite aware of what you meant, though I rather question the attribution of the "classic" label to that film. So there's this creature, and it hides in vents and ducts (and torsos), and then it leaps out... big deal.

It's a classic because it is NOT a science fiction movie about some alien, instead it is a suspense thriller done in the traditional manner.

Plus, hello!, Sigourney Weaver in her underwear, when she was YOUNG AND ATTRACTIVE.

You probably don't consider Terminator a classic either.

Alien is one of those rare movies that is so good that it is impossible to parody effectively.

Aliens, on the other hand, not so great. Fun, but definitely not in the spirit of the original. There's just something wrong about following up a good old-fashioned horror/thriller with a balls-out popcorn action flick. I think Cameron ruined everyone's expectations for numbers 3 and 4 (which were much beter than many people give them credit for, considering they were truer to the spirit of the original -- with the exception of the inclusion of Winona, which was just dumb).

I do not accept that completely inappropriate screamingly overt beat-you-over-the-head Christian symbolism allows a movie to be anything other than a piece of crap.

All right! It's about time I got modded down for something! It's addictive, you know...

Okay, let's try for two. I've never seen "The Terminator", and don't plan to any time soon.

Alien was almost ruined for me by a bunch of guys sitting behind me who had seen the film a few times already, at the pivotal chest bursting scene they waited and waited and then, just as the alien starts to scuttle away, one of them went "beep beep"...

Not parody but very funny in one way, well funny enough that I didn't actually kill them for attempting to ruin the movie.

3 was great too. 4 a touch closer to 2. I am still a sucker for Ridley Scott's "crap in the air and no lights" ambience that he shoves in his movies.

Wow. I can't believe you got modded down for that. It wasn't *that* stupid. You just said you didn't see the big deal about the movie, not that it was a complete steaming pile of shite that you wouldn't wish on a fourteen year old skate punk who'd just stolen your wallet.

Terminator is also a classic suspense thriller. You appear not to like suspense thrillers. So don't see Terminator, that's fine. Just don't expect us not to make fun of you for not having seen it... :-)

Plus, I mean, come on. Keanu?? He was more believable a savior as Bill.
