a little break
posted Friday, April 25, 2003 - 09:56 AM (#5468)
with only 5 weeks remaining before I become a dad, and my wife on modified bed rest (meaning she gets to have all the fun, and do none of the work). I have come to realize that between working 50-60 hours a week, and trying to take care of everything around home as well as cater to the ball & chai.. I mean wife's every need, followed by figuring out what to do with a wee one when it arrives, I won't have any time to be posting in the forums for a few months. I'll make sure I keep up on the strip, so that I am well prepared to stick my foot in my mouth when I do return, but reading and posting in here just takes too much time (and I find myself oddly compelled to read every single post that has been updated since my previous visits). So, see you all again around July/August.

Well, if I've learned anything from bad sitcoms, mainstream newspaper comics, and warmy-happy WB family-based dramas, then I'd say you're fooling yourself if you think you'll have your forum-posting time back in a few months. I'd say you won't have it back for at least another 25 years.

Of course, this experience just comes from the aforementioned media. I'm 21, and have no real experience in that area. So I could be totally wrong.

See ya in 2028.

PS: It seems that my double-post problem has returned. If this gets posted twice, I apologize, but I honestly only hit the submit button once.

See ya in 2028.

Nonesense. You've obviously been watching the wrong sitcoms.

Coolhand is going for the Al Bundy school of fathering. So as soon as his wife is able to walk and hold the baby and the mop at the same time, he's back on the couch with the laptop, posting here.

Nah, I'm guessing he'll be back in 18 years. 15 if the kid is tried as an adult.

Nonetheless, the impeccable logic behind your statement still stands, mostly because I fear you.

I'm going to wager we'll see some middle of the night posts that don't make a whole lot of sense and include random characters that no one has any idea what combination of keys the baby pushed in order to get those characters.
