This [loc.gov] is what your elected representatives spend their time doing. I'm fucking astonished our species ever managed to figure out the heliocentric model.

I can't find anything to say in response to this. I am shocked and appalled. I for one intend to protest by going to an all you can eat buffet. And i know that sounds facetious, but since when does the government engage in this kind of rhetoric?

i have to add, apparently, of our 536 lawmakers, ONE of them has a son in the armed forces. ONE. must be a lot easier to send nameless, faceless people off to war.

grr....

I can see some benefit gained by all 26 of the sponsors fasting until the War on Terrorism is over.

Whereas I don't eat lunch or breakfast (I have mentioned my laziness haven't I?)

Whereas I often forget to eat dinner if I don't have someone to remind me (Girlfriend can become strident on this topic making the laziness factor tricky (level of work required to make dinner being less than explaining why we don't need it))

Whereas Beer is not considered a source of food per se

I propose that this bill be carried through and feel that I have probably already accomplished said task many times over and will happily try it again.

Ok...it's late, and I'm having a hard time decoding all this governspeak with all its Whereases and Recognizing and whatnot. Can someone summarize? Is this like a mandatory religious holiday or something?

For the first time, I'm ashamed to call myself a Virginian. To think, we were first among those named to come up with this idea. This gov't needs to get their collective thumb out of their ass and look around at the toilet bowl they're turning this country into, before someone flushes.
