Rest in peace, Mister Rogers. [cnn.com] You have given us all so very much -- I grew up watching your show. Thank you for everything.

Now I’m depressed.

I mean, I haven’t watched the show in approaching 20 years, but it was comforting to know it was there.

It was nice to know there was someone out there faithfully spreading the messages It’s okay to use your imagination and Try your best to treat everyone like you’d like to be treated.

As I look back, these two messages helped form the backbone of who I am.

Thanks Mr. R.

For some reason...Mr. Rogers always creeped me out....something seemed so unnatural about his voice....you know how most people use a different voice when talking to little kids? He used that voice all the time....freaky

I only watched the show for the scenes of the trolley. I didn't like the house...and I didn't like the land of make believe, but I was a train nut and loved the trolley.

This [npr.org] is a great interview with Mr. Rogers.

My alarm clock turned on just in time to catch one of NPR announcments of his death. Sad.

I was watching Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier tonight, and at one point the show suddenly stopped and there was a short clip of Mr. Rogers, then they wen back to the show. You could tell that it wasn't planned, because you could still hear the show's audio during the clip, but it made me feel better to think that some one at ABC is will to risk their job or whatever just to put a clip of Mr. Rogers on the air. Maybe there's hope after all.

This [salon.com] is a great little short piece that pinpoints exactly what was so funky-fresh about Mr. Rogers.

I always assumed he was gonna go Pee-wee Herman on us someday and end up behind bars for exposing himself to a minor or something. Probably a great guy and all but the sweater... always wore that sweater....

Do you think it's coincidence that the national security risk level was dropped from HIGH to ELEVATED after his death?

I remeber that interview. I really dug it. I mean, this guy didn't just put on this face for the TV, he actually was like that. I found it really cool. I think that we could use more guys like that.

I also found it interesting that the puppets for the Land of Make-Believe were factory rejects. I'm not sure if there was a message there, besides buy cheap, but I like to think so.

My next shoe change is for him.
