I swear, if I was a woman, I'd ask him to bed.

I have tickets to go see him and Catherine Keener (also quite lovely) in a preview of Burn Rate [theatermania.com] in a couple of weeks. Naturally, I'm erect with anticipation.

I'm also hoping that Red Dragon doesn't turn out to be a huge tremendous dud.

I'm not disputing that he is dreamy. I am however asking for a better baseline for dreamy ness to be measured against (perhaps a luvrhino unit?).

After all, if you were a comic strip character, you'd actually sleep with some "interesting" people (Gretchen).

Unless you imply that the sheer nature of being female would raise your standards, which I will not argue with...

Oh and btw please start a topic with your complete patent pending quantum / consciousness theory. I have a theory which I'd like to measure against yours quite a lot. I think they may dovetail a bit (assuming that I can explain mine in a manner which is understandable by others which could be a long shot...)

So this would be a scale from zero to one luvrhino units, correct?

Well, i guess there could be negative dreaminess [goats.com] (nightmarishness?)...

Oh man, Ed norton is one of my favorite actors. I was actually an extra in the movie "Keeping the Faith" a few years back, in which he played a priest. I was hoping to meet him on set, but I had to settle for Ben Stiller because he was the only star on the set.

I also have to say that the pure fact that he hails from Marylnad means alot to me, that my state could produce some one that great.

Heh, remember that one where Ralph came up with the crazy scheme to make him and Ed rich? Ha ha ha... I didn't know Ed got into acting these days... isn't he a little old to be changing careers? And how'd he go from the sewer plant to the big screen?!? Some people have all the luck...

Once we graduate from college, myself and two of my friends have a suicide pact to stalk Edward Norton 24/7 (8 hour shifts) until he eventually agrees to have sex with us. Two of us are male, one is female, we are all hetero, but it doesn't matter. He's that damn awesome

oh man, & like in fight club when he beats the snot out of that blonde guy. All sweaty & shirtless... yes yes.
That's a good movie, even if it didn't have 1/2 naked Edward Norton.

incidentally, i just saw red dragon, and ed norton was indeed, dreamy. so passionate and righteous. i also watched death to smoochy, which has to be one of the best dark comedies i've seen in, well, ever. again, ed's all loveable. and shirtless. mmmm, shirtless.

on a slightly related note, i liked red dragon. 1000 million times better than hannibal. and a much better interpretation than that accursed manhunter. but its tough to go wrong with anthony hopkins. i love that man! even if i did find his hannibal this time a little, hmm, forced? is that the right word. i think he was trying to recapture his silence of the lambs goodness. it was still good though. woohoo.

oh dear, i see my fingers have gotten ahead of me again, i better stop before the real babbling starts.

Red Dragon is very enjoyable. It's worth watching just for the opening sequence.

As for Norton himself, he's definitely starting to hit his stride.

I can’t remember seeing him in anything where he failed to please. Unless of course, you count The Score. Frank Oz has a special kind of genius. To put Norton, De Niro, and Brando in the same room together and have it be so incredibly uninteresting is a feat I’d hitherto thought impossible. Perhaps Franky should stick to being Yoda and Ms. Piggy.

The Score is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The cinematography and the set design was absolutely amazing, and the acting was real and not forced.

The reason why it didn't do so well was because it was the kind of movie that hasn't been in the theater since the late 80's to early 90's. It was simple, direct, well executed instead of flashy/glitz - hence didn't appeal to the jaded masses.

I don't know, his outfit (especially the tie and glasses) really clashes with the yellow of the Symantec box.

The cinematography, I admit, was above average. I didn't really find much of interest in the set design, but I can't say it was poor. However, the relationship between the characters seemed non-existent. It was as if the actors didn’t know or care what they were saying, and these are three phenomenal actors. I’d sit in the theater for two hours to listen to Brando read out of the phonebook, and Ed Norton is heading that direction quickly. True, I haven’t seen De Niro do anything that really thrilled me since Wag the Dog, but we all know he has it in him to be amazing. I wasn’t on the set, but I’m inclined to think that it had to be a lack of excitement in the script or the direction that would turn out such mediocre work.

The acting did seem did seem ‘real and not forced’, but it tended to lean towards naturalism in an almost Clifford Odets fashion, where people tend to sit around talking about what groceries to buy and how their shoes hurt them. Acting should be more dangerous than that…otherwise why bother?

It doesn't need 'Flash/Glitz' but it does need some sort of fire behind it, even if it's a subtle blaze.
