I think the karma cap might've been an agent for goats forums quietness in years of late.

I mean, karma-seeking keeps those who are into karma-gaining from saying lame things, and forces the karma-seeker to actually try to be entertaining.

It's in a slump I would say. It seems that it has done this in the past however. Goes quiet for a bit and then picks up for a while. There isn't enough participation to really keep the dead bits seem active like other larger forums.
