So when Jon mentioned the DNA short story about Khan, I felt compelled to go look it up. For those who have the Salmon, you can find it in part three ("Everything"). It's fairly early in the section; page 171 in the edition I have, though that may not do anyone much good.
It was a neat little story. As with just about everything I've read in Salmon, I was impressed with it. The more I read of this book, the more I like it. I am pleased that my schedule for the next week includes a good deal of travel time during which I can plow through some more of Adams's writing. But I digress...
Now at the risk of sounding like a whiny brat, I must admit after reading the story that I have missed any parallel (beyond the presence of Khan as a main character) Jon might have been pointing out between this story and that one. This can probably be written off to my being a bit of a moron when it comes to literature, but I wonder if you could elaborate, Jon?
