Thanks for the info everyone. Obviously, I should have known what it was. Maybe it's because I'm so bad at first person shooter games that my mind blocked it out.

it's not a FPS. In fact, one of the best selling games is Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I believe you play WoW, a very similar game...

Consoles are not simply FPS platforms in the same way that PCs are not only for browsing the internet.

Yeah, of course not. But for some reason I still associate them with FPSs, maybe because my impression is that FPSs are what most people prefer to play on them. Or at least more than any other type of game. I could be wrong.

Most of the fps on consoles are not very good. The Halo series is passable and has a large fanbase, but most hardcore gamers prefer the PC for thier fps needs.

I would go out on a limb to say that there are much more 3rd person / over the shoulder adventure games on consoles such as the 360 than fps.
