It's the heat. More exactly the dew point. It has been a miserably steamy July and August started just as bad. It drains me so I'm doing nothing exciting.

I'm a librarian, and I work for the government. There's two strikes against me right there.

Nonetheless, the impeccable logic behind your statement still stands, mostly because I fear you.

I could blame the heat.

I could blame my job.

But frankly, I didn't think I was all that interesting in the first place.

The root of the problem rears it's head. This is a community of people who all think they are uninteresting.

I think this is statistically proven false in my case.

And we all know that statistics don't lie.

The root of the problem rears it's head.

I said I thought I was uninteresting, I didn't revoke my membership in the ILoP:WA.

Perhaps more to the point, I usually refrain from saying something here unless it actually seems to contribute. That contribution may be relatively negligible, tangential, or simply poorly valued on my part, but it is my general standard for posting. I do not expect anyone else to adhere to my standards of overevaluation, but I rarely post all that often. It's not - as I was trying to point out - something unusual, at least on my part, contributing to the relative silence.

As for considering ourselves generally uninteresting, I think that's a crock of shit and you know it. People who actually think themselves uninteresting are, by and large, not prone to talking as much as we do.

Keep in mind, though, there is a very large difference between people who think they're interesting and people who actually are.

I've been spending most of my summer in hotel rooms in very hot locations for conferences. Engineering conferences. I think that should pretty much sum it up.

I am more concerned that despite constant talk of salami, nobody talks about slicing techniques, preferred salami gauges, or how to get the most slices on your head. Instead, people talk about salami dildos. I thought this was a sliced salami forum.
