Peculiarly enough, this is probably because you didn't tell anyone else you were graduating.

And now that I know, Amazingly! I don't care.

And Tel is probably very curious as to whether or not he can give Graduation Spankings. I'm pretty sure you are really only justified to spank someone on their birthday, unless they're being naughty any other time of the year. I don't know...I don't know how spankings work.

Keep in mind that Teledildonix has this (somewhat creepy) way of keeping track of everyone on the forum, remembering people's first names, occupations, interests, ages, and backgrounds months after everyone else has forgotten that they posted such info on the forums.

I believe it was discussed in the past. So far, I can only find it mentioned here [goats.com]. If I remember correctly, though, Tele* worked in a field where getting to know people was important.

What is so creepy about remembering that which people openly and explicitly make a point to tell you about themselves?!

If those people have blogs and livejournals and personal webpages where they frequently discuss their lives, then aren't they expecting any member of the public to have a casual opinion about who they are? If those people post hundreds of comments in public forums, aren't they explicitly inviting an audience to form some small idea about them?

Also, i didn't work in a field where i got to know people: quite the opposite. As a Directory Assistance operator, i only had to be precise with the details of data, and my interactions with people were as professional and utterly impersonal as possible.

Hence, they were far more successful than an environment like this one here, where people accuse me of being "creepy" because i remember their names, accuse me of being a "censor" because i disparage something they like, and whine that their brain feels "dirty and needs cleansing" because their uptight little sphincters get in a knot when i mention something sexual that isn't part of their sexual preferences.

And there you go, Jon: number fucking thirty-one for you to slog through. Of course, you may note the irony that somebody else started this thread as a compliment to me, then immediately got insulted, then the thread turned into "Teledildonix is creepy"-- and i hadn't even said a fucking goddam word! I didn't even have to participate! Brilliant! I don't even have to be here to be insulted!

I'm trying really hard to convince myself of the entertainment value. I suppose a real plus has been that it's all just text on a monitor, and i didn't have to actually venture out in public on this Bizarro planet, i was able to get all the insanity in the comfort of my own home. Wheeee.

How odd. You and Jon say i'm too sensitive or serious, but Tynic says i must be some kind of autistic alien who has no comprehension of people's feelings or humor. And somewhere between the contradictions there is an allegedly creepy person who foolishly gave a shit about what anybody thought at one time or another. Oh, that's right: i "ought to know better".

In fact, I liked it so much, that's how I started off my college orientation ice breaker all those years ago. "I'm Matt... and I like cheese." Up until I graduated, I still occasionally had people approach me and ask if I still ilked cheese.

It's hard to sway public opinion, and arguing to win someone over regarding their personal opinions of collegues, friends, and acquaintences never seems to do any good (at least, in my experience).

As someone who's made a life-long career at being not-so-well-liked, I sympathize. Still, you're a very visible, outspoken person on these fora, and as such, there's going to be a lot of negativity thrown your way, if only because you're right there, and you're louder than most.

Any one of us can be the target around here. Every time I post I sit and wait for one of the forum snipers to make me feel like a complete moron -- it's a less painful version of that community in The Lottery. So you can either contribute as you see fit, or you can be reduced to these battles of words every time someone calls you "creepy" or what-have-you, and just stir the pot even more.

Nothing personal and no offense meant, but speaking for myself, I liked hearing from the Not-So-Defensive-Tele a lot more. Counterstrike-Tele doesn't seem to have much to say. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

I'm sorry you saw this as an attack. I certainly didn't mean that. I've always seen you as a positive, if occasionally long-winded, contribution to the forums. I would agree with some on the board that you occasionally get a bit defensive, but I like your postings, your self-expression, and your earnestness.
